I stayed at this hotel for a writing conference and was highly impressed! The staff was so kind and always helpful with whatever they needed. The breakfasts were delicious and substantial. They cooked dinner for our group every night, and it was the best food I’ve had for a conference, hands down! Would definitely recommend a booking here, whether for a group or personally

The Noble House is a treasure trove of history in the midst of this historical city. The Garden Suite is amazing, secluded off to the side of the rest of the building. That said, it has very few windows and a better quality of lighting would be good, but it would also destroy the ambience.There are many stairs to climb throughout the hotel and the car park is very small and first come first served.Our stay was four nights, which in retrospect, was a bit long, but if you use Evora as a base for day trips, it is ideal.We went to the cork factory outside of the city and learned more than I ever need to know about cork, but it is absolutely fascinating to learn the process from harvesting to production of saleable products. The process is all done by hand and is very labor intensive. Don't miss this! You will come away amazed.

Whether this hotel gets a better review will depend on the room you get. Being in an old building the room types are uneven. Same category can get you a great one with balcony or terrace (for which you'd likely get a rave review) or a basic one with no view. We had a room on second floor (#14) facing a narrow side street and building right on the other side. Noisy when someone walks below and talking. Room echos a lot so can hear next room or people in the hallway outside. Tile floor with no carpeting which is good and just enough space to do yoga or stretches. Plenty of outlets, wifi adequate. There is a coffee machine but no tea or kettle, one bottle of drinking water. High ceilings so at least the room didn't feel as oppressive as it's dark with not much lighting. Location is good, walkable to center. Breakfast adequate with standard continental.
