    Perfect 5 nights of relaxation

    rating04 Jun 2026

Never been to this area before and what a lovely surprise. The hotel is first class. We had a junior suit on the first floor and it was perfect. Cleaned everyday and towels changed. We were half board. Again could not fault the food lots of choice but not too much something for everyone. Pool area was quiet so you could get a sun-bed with no problem and at anytime. Lovely snack bar around the poolside and very reasonable. We only had drinks but the prices were cheap. This is the first time we have stayed at a hotel in 20 years as we normally stay in villas and this hotel is perfectly ran all the staff were friendly and polite.

A great holiday in a great hotel and location

    rating22 May 2026

Had a great stay at The Alcazar mid May 2026. Modern bedrooms and public areas were spotless. Staff were lovely and so welcoming - from Reception; the Bar and the Restaurant. Plenty of options for breakfast - but will hotels ever fix those flippin toasters??!! Nightly entertainment was 'low key' but nothing on Sunday or Monday (might be different in high season?) Not far to some great restaurants with good 'tourist' deals in the evening .. and that beach and it's boardwalk were totally beautiful.

    Best facial & massage ever!!

    rating19 May 2026

Had an amazing Spa experience today with my sister, both the therapists who did our treatments were extremely friendly, kind & professional. The best facial and massage I have ever had. I would highly recommend it.The only negative was the pool area & water were very hot but I assume that's part of the relaxation experience.

    Enjoyed our stay

    rating12 May 2026

Enjoyed an 11 night stay (via Jet2). Stayed in a family suite on floor six (had booked a junior suite).. Wide mix of customers - young athletes, older couples and a few younger families.Entertainment five nights per week in the bar area. Large TV too for sports in another part of the bar. All very relaxed.Had a spa visit - very hot!Pool bar not open yet. Inside bar serving drinks and snacks during the day.Went half board - enjoyed the buffet breakfast and dinner options - plenty of options (plus free from allergies section at breakfast). Enjoyed a wide variety of fish options.Room had been updated - only issue was the drain smell. Nice sized balcony for relaxing on. Shout out for David in reception who was very helpful. Free pool towels. Can request a takeaway breakfast if on an early flight. Took a travel kettle. Room had plenty of sockets including USB ones but none near the mirror. Hairdryer in the bathroom. Bottle of water in room on arrival and a mini fridge to store drinks/snacks in. Small Spa and Auchan shops in easy walking distance.

    Early season holiday

    rating08 May 2026

Just a few minutes walk from the beach, this hotel was in a prime spot in Monte Gordo. The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the room we had was just the right size for our stay - the balcony was a bonus. It wasn’t too busy when we visited, although there were some groups of young athletes visiting to use the training facilities at nearby San Antonio. There was only a handful of other British couples - other visitors (who weren’t with the athletes) seemed to be French, Spanish, Dutch and German. The staff were welcoming and friendly, especially in the restaurant and bar, and we found the reception staff very helpful and occasionally chatty. The food was varied and interesting, and there was plenty of it, although occasionally some hot dishes could have done with being warmer. The pool area had plenty of loungers and was secluded from the street, but I can imagine it gets very busy during peak season. The spa had lovely facilities, but for me, personally, it was just far too hot. I would recommend this hotel for a short break - just be aware that there is little to do in Monte Gordo itself and you will need to venture further to explore. We took a couple of walks to San Antonio - both via the road and via the beach/forest route. We also took long walks along the beach - which goes on forever.
