  Very nice 5-star hotel with very large beds and beautiful rooms, very clean, unfortunately the mattresses were very, very soft, which we found uncomfortable.The breakfast buffet impressed us with its wide variety and excellent service, but unfortunately, as in many large hotel chains, some convenience food is used here too. Convenience food can, of course, also be of good quality.As everywhere in Korea, the staff are linguistically talented and professional in their work.The hotel is located in the Korean Alps in a very quiet part of town.

  Convenient Location for Skiing

  We stayed at the InterContinental Alpensia Pyeongchang during a winter ski trip.Check-in was smooth. As the hotel was fully booked, we were not able to receive a room upgrade or late check-out. However, we were offered points instead, which was a very nice gesture and showed recognition of IHG elite membership.The ski resort, restaurants, and convenience stores were all within a 5-minute walk, which made our stay very convenient.Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable experience for a ski getaway.

  Intercontinental got us this time…

  A miss for us. I guess we were expecting Lake Placid of Korea or Park City of Korea. Did not meet the mark for us by any stretch. This so called resort is in the middle of nowhere. So you’d expect a lot more on property but really everything is a ++ charge. Maybe by default Intercontinental hotels get the five stars but there isn’t enough provided here compared to other five star hotels. No pool. There is a pay as you go jacuzzi and sauna but men or women only so we had to split up the family for that. We struggled to find a days worth of activities in May on a three day trip. Excited to get back to Seoul. Crazy thing is we didn’t find the people as friendly as what we’ve been used to either. I think they would have rather we we left the kids home. No upgrade for Diamond Elite and the place is a ghost town, that’s strange also! Won’t be back but I guess we’re glad we punched the ticket. I’m guessing Coke in the winter. Off season isn’t worth it. Maybe a 3.5 star really but not 5 stars sorry.   An average ski resort

  If you ask me whether we will come again another time, my answer is probably not.The positive things about this hotel are: 1. 5 minutes walk to the ski centre 2. The room size is reasonable 3. Restaurants and convenient stores are all minutes away 4. Shuttle buses from airport and Seoul But that's all for the good aspects and the negative areas are quite many. 1. This is not a ski in and out hotel. 2. No good restaurants around the area 3. We lined up for 50 minutes for a breakfast table while there were many empty tables inside 4. The hotel is old and thus the air conditioning cannot turn up or down the ventilation, hot water in the tub runs very slow, etc 5. No executive lounge 6. Staffs are friendly but not knowledgeable 7. The ski area is not big.   Super big room and nice buffet breakfast

  Perfect place to stay at Alpensia , there is Holiday Inn or this , I chose this because of the gym in case cannot remember how to ski. Their gym is full equipped gym, you can really go a full workout if you want to. Their buffet breakfast was great , selection were sufficient. The room was big and the bed was super comfortable! Definitely recommend to stay here !
