  Charming old building in Tavira

  Owner was very kind and helpful. The accommodations are in a lovely old building down a small cobblestone street. The bed was very comfy and the apartment was clean. The furnishings were nice. My only complaint was that the kitchen was too small to really do anything in it it. Similarly the bathroom was also extremely small. However this can be the problem with these old properties. Further I had a lovely stay.

  Nice pension very well located in Tavira just 5 minutes away from restaurant area. The owner is a nice guy and explain you the surrounding upon arrival.Our room was OK with a double bed and a nice bathroom. Just one drawback was that we didn't have hot water at 11am (don't know if there was a problem).Will come back anyway.

  Surbooking - they cancelled my stay 3 days after the booking

  Shocking - they were overbooked and cancelled our booking via hotels.com. Wouldn't trust them to bok my holidays again. Lats time I use hotels.com and this hotel. Looked nice but very disappointing.... RuiCarvalh0, Proprietário at Casa do Postigo, responded to this review One more absolutely untrue review on TripAdvisor. This is totally false and we have informed TripAdvisor about it and they pure and simply ignore it.

  Small getaway in Tavira

  We stayed in the only room outside of the hotel. Rui was a great host waiting for us to arrive and to give us a highlight of the places to visit in Tavira. The room was clean and cosy with courtesy water and tea. There were also books and candles which impressed me. Id i come back to Tavira this is where i will stay.

  A short stay at Casa do Postigo

  We arrived at the Casa do Postigo around 8 pm. Another guest let us in as the owner was not around and we telephoned him then to let him know we had arrived. we sat on the small terrace waiting for him. We had let him know beforehand of our approximate arrival time. When he arrived he showed us to our room, and explained that we could order breakfast on the terrace if required and explained that there were may restaurants around.. As parking is very limited, he then showed us where to park , unfortunately it was full and we had to drive around searching for a place and in the dark. As it was getting late and we were quite hungary we decided to eat and take a quick walk out to a restaurant. The room was clean and had an ensuite. It was unfortunately quite small or bijou as they say. We scrambled over the bed most days to get out to the bathroom. The room would not be suitable for those with limited mobility. Also the front door opened onto a flight of stairs so was in this way not suitable for those with mobility problems. All in all a fairly good stay as we were out every day, There was also limited hanging space and so for most of the time we lived out of the suitcase, not ideal. Kettle and cups are provided, so take tea/coffee bags and some dried milk. We felt squeezed all the time, and we are quite small in build. There was no service other than if we wanted the room cleaned it was done,so I am unable to rate this
