  Such a shame but pretty bad really

  Overall this was such a shame. It could have been nice. But bottom line is it was just poor and I’d definitely avoid if you can. On arrival the air conditioning didn’t work the one thing you need in 35 degree heat: but it didn’t work and clearly hadn’t been checked. The Sun loungers : well blimey. 8 guests and six loungers. 5 of which were badly ripped and unusable. Rubbish. You couldn’t use them. Even the ones that weren’t ripped were super cheap rubbish plastic that bent when in use. The pool was awful. Lined with linoleum that was coming away. It was so shallow that at the shallow end it just passed my thigh. Very very difficult to swim in. No proper wine glasses. Just water glasses and glasses do small you refilled them over and over. The chair in the lounge had a broken leg. Dangerous. I struggle to believe the cleaners couldn’t see that as it was very obvious. The towels were so thin I think I could put my finger through them.Bottom line is this was poor. But it could be do different with a bit of tlc. Well a lot of tlc to be fair. Would I come back? No. Would I recommend? No. Not s good experience here and as for “luxury” well that is just a joke.

  Bad breakfast, bad house maintenance, very noise, cars going fast at night in the internal road, and at night I felt unsafe with bad behaviors nearby and with security doing nothing. Won’t come back I suggest the same!Even after talking with the manager, we had to talk twice with security and once call the police.

  I’d highly recommend looking elsewhere for your villa stay in Carvoeiro. The team are very unhelpful with solving issues whilst you are there. The villas are poorly finished (e.g ceiling lights not secured to ceiling and hanging by the wires…on ALL the lights). Maid service inconsistent. Poor air conditioning. No WiFi. No pool lights for entire two week stay and someone only coming to look on the day we left (after complaining for the final time during our checkout process). Restaurant on resort also inconsistent (the chef had to be woken up with a call before we could order food at lunchtime). Metal sun beds were rusty and bloody uncomfortable.Positives - Portugal is amazing. Staff at resort restaurant were nice people. Villa is large and spacious (so can easily share with another family and not be on top of each other). Shaded area around the pool was welcome. Landscaping in villa very pretty.All in all, our stay was great because we had a brilliant holiday with our friends and therefore we could see past all the poor elements of the villa…but if someone asked me if I’d recommend the Colina Villas with Private Pool I’d would definitely not recommend staying there.

  Promised a voucher due to Corona cancellation

  Due to the Corona virus I had to cancel our trip as our flights were cancelled. After 6 phone calls and 4 emails I was finally told I would receive a voucher for my cancelled trip within 30 days. After 6 weeks I phoned them to explain that I had not received the voucher. I held on the line for 40 minutes before speaking to someone. I was calm and polite. The agent told me they had no record of any cancellation. I asked to speak to someone more senior. They hung up. I think they are being deliberately incompetent.

  Visited here with my family in our own villa inc pool. Very clean & maintained. It was a slight walk from reception but not too bad. There is a mini market on site, but alittle expensive.There is a shop close by to walk to, which is cheaper. The beach is a 20min walk (down hill) and is lovely.Overall great holiday
