Location

This comfortably appointed luxury hotel is located in the heart of Vilamoura, directly beside the marina and about 200 m from the hotel's private stretch of sand as Praia da Fálesia. The Lake Park (c. 300 m) and a beautiful lake (200 m) provide some variety, while the town centre may be reached within 15 minutes on foot (c. 1.5 km). A range of boutiques, restaurants, cafes, and an international casino are all located in the vicinity of the hotel. Faro airport is 22 km away.

Facility

The complex was modernised in 2023. The hotel has a lift and features 206 rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Guests can store valuables in the safe. Wireless internet access in public areas (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Other services include a babysitting service (for a fee), a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, room service (for a fee), a laundry service and a coin-operated laundry. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service (for a fee) to explore the surrounding area. A business centre with projector and a flip chart and pens is available.

Rooms

Air conditioning ensures that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Most units include a balcony with sea views, where guests can relax and linger a while. The rooms have a double bed and a sofa bed. For a fee, extra beds or children's beds can be provided for little travellers. A safe and a minibar are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi are provided as well. Slippers are included. A hairdryer and bathrobes are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. The complex has non-smoking rooms.

Sport

Plenty of active relaxation awaits guests in the pool area's 4 outdoor pools. Even in bad weather, a swim in the indoor pool is always an option. Refreshing drinks at the pool bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub offer the perfect way to unwind. Fine weather can be enjoyed on the terrace. Those who wish to stay active while on holiday can enjoy tennis and paddle tennis. For a fee, golf is also available. A wide range of sports are available, including water sports such as canoeing, sailing and kayaking or, for a fee, diving. Sport and leisure facilities at the complex include a gym and table tennis. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna and a beauty salon. Subject to charge: massage treatments. The hotel offers an entertainment programme for adults.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a breakfast room and a bar. Guests can dine at the restaurant (non-smoking, smoking area, a buffet and air conditioning). Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. Catering options include bed and breakfast and half board. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available. Diet meals, gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. Baby food (on request) provides for little ones' well being. Alcoholic beverages are available.

    Second visit to Domes Lake

    This is our second stay and we had a great 5 days at Domes Lake. Immaculately clean and very friendly staff, particularly Danielle from guest relations who checked in with us on 3 of our days. As it was my birthday we had balloons, a cake and cava waiting for us in our room. As other reviews have mentioned the rooms are not very bright as they use lamps and we found the bathroom too dark and the balcony on the small side. We attended the nature talk around the lake which was informative. Also attended 2 yoga classes which were excellent and undertaken lakeside. A great way to start the day. We last visited in 2024 and although this is a family friendly hotel there did seem many more babies and children. This was evident at breakfast which we found very noisy even sat outside. In contrast the evenings were very quiet with limited evening entertainment on 2 nights. You could always find sun beds and umbrellas but pools were busy with children and their inflatables, even though there was a notice saying lilos and dinghy’s were not permitted in the pool.Drinks were on the expensive side but we were very glad of the 2 large bottles of water left in the room each day.Great choice of food at breakfast, however we found the Italian meal on our last night not to our liking and the pasta cold.The night before departure we were left macaroons and in the morning a small gift to remember our stay. On the whole a vey enjoyable second visit to Domes Lake.

    I stayed at the Domes Lake for 7 nights with my husband and 14yr old son.RoomThe room was clean, stylish, and modern, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.The bed was huge, firm and very comfortable! There was a second bed put up for our son which again was comfortable. The bathroom is part of the room with sliding doors for privacy (toilet in separate room). The shower was very powerful and overall a lovely room.We had a very large balcony as we were on floor 1, higher floors have smaller balconies.There was plenty of wardrobe space (hanging and shelving)Additional touches- Nespresso machine, robes and slippers. A birthday cake and bottle of prosecco was in our room on our arrival and we were left macaroons on our final evening. EVEN BETTER IF:The room was very dark as no main light (lamps only)We had to request coffee pods as not replaced daily (they were however sent straight to our room)HOTELLocation is brilliant, 5-10min walk to the marina.Beautiful grounds, there is a lovely half mile board walk around the lake.The breakfast was fantastic, great choice every day. The omelettes are delicious!     Gorgeous hotel and very friendly staff

    Great luxury hotel with very friendly staff.The positives were the staff were very accommodating and even lent us a pram to use for the entire stay. The walk from our apartment to the main hotel was quite far each day as we had to young children so we would most likely stay on the main hotel if we went again.Saying that the 2 bedroom apartment that we was in was fantastic, amazing views of the lake and the cleaning service was great.The only few less positives were there was a lack of entertainment (only a few nights a week of a DJ or a singer) in the evening and very few activites during the day.Saying that, we was a gorgeous pools including one heated and one lovely sand beach pool that wasnt salt water. , Owner at Domes Lake Algarve, Autograph Collection, responded to this review Dear daniellejason123,Thank you very much for your kind review and for sharing your experience following your recent stay with us.We are delighted to read that you enjoyed the hotel, the views from your two-bedroom apartment, our pools, and the friendly service provided by our team.     Fabulous Stay at Domes Lake Algarve

    I stayed here for a long weekend with 3 of my friends for a joint special birthday celebration. The hotel exceeded expectations in terms of location, helpfulness of staff and quality of food at the hotel. We wanted a very easy weekend away and that is exactly what we had. The hotel was full whilst we were there, but it didn't feel busy. There were plenty of sunbeds by the pool, throughout our stay.     Great hotel but spoiled by lack of facility in pool areas. Risk to welfare by hotel policy.

    Most of the day was planned R&R by the pool with the family and especially the grandchildren. Pool staff removed the parasols ( took them down) as it was too windy in their opinion and they could fly away with gusts. My solution would be to fix them to their bases properly if there is a risk. Don’t risk sunburn, sunstroke and skin cancers by removing shade.
