Location

The hotel is located just a 20-minute walk away from the beaches of Praia da Rocha. Flamingo is situated a 5-minute walk from shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Portimão train station is a 7-minute drive away from Flamingo. Faro Airport is approximately 72 km from the hotel.

Facility

60 apartments are located on 10 storeys and can be reached by lift. English- and French-speaking staff are happy to assist and advise. The apartment hotel provides a baggage storage service, a transfer service, a smoke alarm and a smoking area. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. Film fans will find plenty of 'lights, camera, action' at the cinema. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (for a fee).

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony or terrace is among the standard features in the rooms. The rooms have a double bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. There is a fully-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, tea/coffee station and oven. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub, as well as a hairdryer. As a special feature, bathrooms are also stocked with cosmetic products and a selection of towels. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

The indoor and outdoor pools are ideal for exercise as well as relaxation. Refreshing drinks at the pool bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub offer the perfect way to unwind. Comfortable sun loungers are available on the terrace. For guests who wish to keep active, archery, fishing and horse riding are available. With windsurfing, canoeing and diving available, the hotel also caters to water sports enthusiasts. Guests can enjoy indoor activities, including bowling.

    Great apartment with weird location

    We loved the apartment! Spacious, really great kitchen, good wifi, nice pool. But the location was not great as Portimao feels a little dodgy (wouldn’t go out at night) and the beaches aren’t as classically Algarve as others. If you are looking to have a budget Algarve holiday then this apartment of great. However, if you want to visit Bengali, Lagos or Carvoeiro, you will have to walk (20 mins) to the bus or train station then catch one or two trains or buses so it is not the best place to be based. One great thing about the location is that there is a shopping mall and three giant supermarkets (Aldi, lidl, continents) only 5 minutes walk away which is very convenient.

    We went to Antalya.Had a lovely time stayed at Flamingo. The apartments were spacious clean.Our kids spent a lot of time in the outdoor pool.The owner was very welcoming.would recommend to friends and family.

    Spent a few nights at Flamingo which it was alright overall though not as close of what I’ve expected. Had a friendly welcoming and a speedy check in, but was offered a room with no special view, like a pool view or city view. Anyway, it’s located 1.8 km away of the amazing Praia da Rocha beach, so this was a bit of an issue to me, as I’ve been there for the BPM festival, so at times I had to walk quite a lot to get from one place to the other.On the other hand it does offer a kitchen to cook your food if required, so it’s something I personally find it useful.On my room, the kitchen hob wasn’t working at all, but didn’t want to disturb anyone so I didn’t escalate the issue.I do have to say I quite didn’t like the appearance of the bedsheets that weren’t looking so clean.Apart from that, I am of the view that Flamingo Residence is a budget accommodation, therefore if on a tight one, yes it is worth to give it a go.

    As the saying goes if you could put these apartments near the beach no problem. But then the prices would be through the roof. Sadly they are too far from the beach and to get to it is up a very steep road which means taxis needed all the time. Added to this is the fact it is addressed as Praia Da rocha which it most certainly isn't. It is in Portimao. Roughly a mile or so from any beach. Pretty modern nice enough, yet you always have to go back literally to it's location. Not great sorry to report. If you don't mind this fact then why not give it a try. For me, too far a compromise.

    surprise update on arrival from studio to lovely large modern apartment

    this is a great choice for a couple. Very clean and well-managed apartment with huge patio windows and two balconies. Nicely equipped in the kitchen with a proper modern oven. Really helpful manager, kindly printed off our return boarding cards and also checked and confirmed our shuttle for our return journey. Cheerful greeting each morning and arranged that our rubbish was collected and towels changed, even though this was a self-catering deal. Excellent service!
