    This small but friendly guest house was a joy to stay at for 13 nights. Our room was comfortable and clean and fresh every day. Our deal included breakfast which was a buffet with eggs, bacon, mushrooms, beans bread, a selection of pastries, fruit, yoghurt cereal, and tea/ coffee. The coffee is good as it is bean to cup and we don’t drink instant so although tea and coffee is provided in the room, I collected a pre breakfast coffee for our room each morning.The location is great as you come down the steps straight onto the beach, where there are a selection of bars/ restaurants and of course you can dine here too. Beach towels and a parasol are provided and you can also hire sunbeds and shade on the beach for €15 for a half day( this was as much as we needed!) There is a small supermarket about 5-10 min walk towards the ferry.The icing on the cake though is the staff, every single one of them. Being a small place I think we met them all! Guilherme greeted us on arrival and showed us where everything was and explained various things to do, and restaurant recommendations. He was charming and thoughtful throughout and he and his team ensured we wanted for nothing.There is a ferry into Faro about 15 min walk and a bus (16) that goes from outside into town via the airport. Although we didn’t get everyone’s names they were all stars, from housekeeping, to the kitchen who were in early to set up breakfast every day, and of course the bar staff. Our main interactions were with Tiago, Rui, Nina and sersu ( apologies if the selling is wrong and if I haven’t named everyone . That will be because I didn’t get a chance to ask not because they weren’t also great!)The BIG issue however is Faro airport arrivals. We were over 2 hours waiting to get through passport control with around 800 people infront of us. Do be warned, delays coming in can be up to 4 hours. Our departure was better because we paid to get fast track through security and passport control was fairly clear so we had no problems but we arrived early on the advice of Ryan air. Faro airport just does not have the staff to cope with the volume of people coming in, especially from U.K. as we are no longer in the EU so have to go through different channels.

    Advantages are 10 mins from airport, right on the beach, very friendly, small and intimate, great rooftop bar and restaurant.Disadvantages were that the standard double was a little small. Other than that it was all good for off the plane and on the beach in record short time.

    With its proximity to the airport the 10 roomed Golden Beach Guest House is ideal to start or end your holiday.Its location directly on the beach and its roof top bar are an added bonus.I booked a 5night stay in October in a premier room which afforded two large windows with lovely views. This appeared to be the only extra towards a premier rating. It was a typical en suite hotel room with no refinements.I paid €1117. . . . the equivalent of £200 per night bed and breakfast.The breakfast was good. The staff courteous but lacked warmth.Definitely overpriced.

    I stayed at this lovely hotel back in July with my daughter and had a really great time, I thoroughly recommend it. It was only for a few nights but the staff were welcoming, friendly, room clean, great restaurant and amazing location! I would definitely return and hope to do so sometime in the future.

    A very pleasant little hotel right on Faro beach. Perfect romantic get away with great choice of drinks and food for the evening. Rooms very clean, staff very friendly. Would visit here again in the future. Beautiful sunsets every evening with garunteed hot sunny weather and the odd sighting of dolphins.
