    Beautiful Return Stay!

    rating30 May 2026

We’ve just had a 7 night stay in a newly refurbished deluxe villa, 3 adults and 2 children. The room was so beautiful, beautiful decor and immaculately clean. The beds are beautifully comfy with good quality pillows and bed sheets, really luxurious! There’s a fridge, small hob and lots of lovely new crockery and a large dining table with 6 chairs, giving the option to eat in should you so wish. The breakfast is excellent, a beautiful selection and the most delicious homemade granola and freshly made omelettes. The waiting staff work hard as the restaurant is busy (quieter before 9am) although they could offer service with a smile a little more. Our children loved the pools and the main pool is heated, and although the others are cooler, the temperature was perfect to cool down in 30 degree heat! The kids club is excellent, Augusto and his team are a real credit to the hotel. Our son loved Augusto - he creates such a great atmosphere, he remembers everyone’s names, he acknowledges every child. His energy and enthusiasm is just wonderful and the hotel are so lucky to have him! As are the children that are holidaying here! Extra info:- The seafront restaurant is pricey but worth it for the views and quality of food.- Access to the beach is great and it’s a gorgeous setting with caves and rock pools.- Bottled water comes to the room everyday, but call to chase if it doesn’t arrive.- Italian restaurant over the road opposite the hotel entrance is excellent! - Pools nearer the deluxe villas are so much quieter and you can see the peacocks! - Hotel peacocks are great, magical to see with the children, but noisy and woke us a few times! Highly recommend this resort, it was half term, there was a conference, but it never felt too busy or too crowded! We’ll be back next year! General Manager, Owner at Grande Real Santa Eulalia Resort, responded to this review Dear Mrs_Pieano2018,Thank you for sharing such a generous and detailed review of your return stay. It is wonderful to know that your newly refurbished deluxe villa felt so beautiful and thoughtfully appointed for your family, and that the cleanliness and added touches helped make the space feel genuinely luxurious. We are also delighted that breakfast, the pools, the beach setting, and the quieter areas near the villas all contributed so positively to your holiday. Your kind words for Augusto and the Kids Club team are especially appreciated. The warmth and personal attention you described are exactly the kind of memories we hope our younger guests take home with them.We have also noted your comments regarding breakfast service and room water delivery, which will be reviewed with the relevant teams. Even during busier periods, the details of service should feel as gracious and attentive as the ambiance of the resort. It means a great deal to know that you plan to return next year. We will be very pleased to welcome you and your family back to Grande Real Santa Eulália Resort & Hotel Spa.Kind regards,Guest Experience Manager

    Amazing!

    rating30 May 2026

Went with my husband in April and it was the most lovely place ever! The staff was very nice and friendly, we received a bottle of bubbly as we were celebrating our anniversary. The views were exceptional and the food was really good, although a bit expensive. Very family friendly with a lot of activities for kids as well. There is also direct access to the beach which is lovely. The location is convenient as its not right in the centre of the town, but close enough that you can get to the main town by walking, or a quick uber/taxi ride. Overall it was a lovely stay, I highly recomment and would definitely visit again! General Manager, Owner at Grande Real Santa Eulalia Resort, responded to this review Dear arichht,Thank you for sharing such a lovely review of Grande Real Santa Eulália Resort & Hotel Spa. We are delighted that your anniversary stay in April felt so memorable, from the warm welcome and celebratory bottle of bubbly to the exceptional views, friendly service, food, family activities, and direct access to Santa Eulália Beach. Our location offers a quieter resort setting while keeping Albufeira within easy reach, and it is wonderful to know that balance suited your stay so well. We truly appreciate your enthusiastic recommendation and would be very pleased to welcome you back for another beautiful Algarve escape.Regards,Guest Experience Manager

Don’t stay here unless you want to sleep with roaches the size of samosas!!

    rating25 May 2026

Never left a review before but future guests need to be made aware of what to expect of their “5 star” stay. The resort itself is very dated and had a nauseating, foul smell in the corridors so strong that I had to hold my breath going from my room to the elevator. Walls are paper thin so expect to hear the whole world outside of your room. The WiFi is absolutely atrocious, extremely unstable and unreliable. The resort was overrun with conferences everyday of our stay and there were constant herds of people causing traffic for other guests. These people were seemingly made priority by the resort. Restaurants on property were also very mid, with a 3.2 star rating from thousands of people you’d think they’d try to revamp their menus. Now the part that really grossed us out, our rooms. They were old and absolutely disgusting. The bathroom drain seemed to be covered in mold and dirt. Most upsetting, however, was finding two samosa sized roaches in the bathroom. One crawled across my hand, which resulted in us having to switch rooms around midnight during one of our final nights. We were paranoid going into our room from then on. The location itself has potential, but the hotel itself is a biohazard. This resort is a case of great advertising, horrific reality. I’ve traveled to about 20 countries, stayed in numerous hotels and never encountered this many issues and false advertising anywhere else. Please save your hard earned money and stay somewhere else! General Manager, Owner at Grande Real Santa Eulalia Resort, responded to this review Dear Q1906UK sabrinaf,Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry to read that your stay at Grande Real Santa Eulália Resort & Hotel Spa left you with such a negative impression. The concerns you describe are serious and will be reviewed with the relevant teams. Cleanliness and comfortable accommodations are fundamental expectations, and we regret that your experience did not reflect the standard we aim to provide. We also understand how disruptive it must have been to change rooms late in the evening, particularly after encountering an issue that should never form part of a guest's stay. Your comments will be shared with our leadership so we can better understand where the experience fell short and address the matters raised. While we are disappointed that your visit ended this way, we appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention and hope there may be an opportunity in the future to restore your confidence in the resort.Kind regards,Guest Experience Manager

    Lovely relaxing stay

    rating23 May 2026

It was our first time visiting the hotel and it was a pleasant stay. Positives--Staff friendly-Access to the beach-Room was spacious, had everything you needed and the pillows were super comfy! -No rush for the sunbeds in the morning-Peacocks in the grounds - a bottle of bubbly and a cake was delivered to my room for my birthday from the hotel Negatives- -Snacks and drinks in the hotel were mega expensive -Hotel was overrun by a big conference whilst we were there-The shuttle bus wasn’t in operation- no alternative offered so had to pay for taxis to the old town, admittedly it wasn’t a lot of money but the shuttle bus was a factor when I booked the hotel on the outskirts of the resort.-Maintenance on the outdoor pools was slack and the biggest outdoor pool wasn’t heated and was freezing. -I only heard music/entertainment once whilst we stayed for the week but according to the website it was supposed to be around 4 times a week. - no fruit in the room as per the website - no supermarket on site- spa was lovely but expensive - breakfast was very samey but lovely. Top tip is to eat out at the two restaurants at the entrance to the hotel complex, really delicious food and a reasonable price. Also super market up the road for supplies. We had a really relaxing stay and once we sussed out the do’s and dont’s we really enjoyed it and would return! General Manager, Owner at Grande Real Santa Eulalia Resort, responded to this review Dear M7479BNclairec,Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review of your first stay at Grande Real Santa Eulália Resort & Hotel Spa. Happy Birthday once again. We are delighted that your visit felt relaxing overall, and that our team, direct access to Santa Eulália Beach, spacious and comfortable room, peacocks, and peaceful poolside mornings all helped create a pleasant holiday. The resort is designed to offer many ways to enjoy the Algarve in one place, with direct beach access and family-friendly facilities. We also appreciate your added comments. Your feedback is detailed and useful, and will be shared with the relevant teams for review. We are especially pleased that, once settled into the resort, you were able to enjoy a genuinely relaxing stay and would consider returning. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back for another visit to Santa Eulália.Regards,Guest Experience Manager

Rude staff (not all) but great kids club and access to beach.

    rating22 May 2026

We stayed at the Grande Real Santa Eulália for 5 nights in May. We had booked the 2 bed villa and added breakfast for 3 adults and 1 child for approximately250 euros for our stay. Starting with the positives:- the hotel has an onsite ATM machine and a cigarette dispenser in the main lobby. - there is an onsite pizzeria, and the pizzas were honestly delicious but it’s only open from 12:30-17:30 - there is room service- the access to the beach is pretty impressive and direct. From our villa it was around a 5-7 minute walk through the main restaurant - on site ice cream/ gelato (big hit with my toddler)- the 2 bed villa is spacious but we had a first floor villa and there are steps to get up to it. Tricky when you have a buggy/pram but we didn’t ask for a ground floor one so I don’t know if they could have offered this- kids club was really really good. Lots of activities and child size toilets on site. Outdoor play area- very secure. Could be improved if they added a parasol or some type of shaded roof/cover for the outdoor area- Views are lovely from the beach and the hotel - on site peacocks were wonderful. Just wondering around and very beautiful to look at. What I didn’t like- generally I felt the service of a lot of the staff wasn’t friendly. Including most of those at the reception desk. Their body language and general attitude when asking questions etc was not open nor inviting. The only staff I felt were completely friendly and warm were the pizzeria boys and Cassius who was waitering at the Pizzeria- the villa was “cleaned” daily but not really as the floors were sandy and you could feel grit walking barefoot. The living area bed was only made on day 1 and not the rest. The kitchen paper roll was not replenished once it had run out despite asking for this. Our water bottles were disposed of despite being half full. - the breakfast was mediocre and the same offering each morning. They did make an omelette for my toddler on request one day. Many families were taking items from breakfast and when we attempted to take a croissant and some fruit in a bowl, we were stopped. This was quite an embarrassing experience as the woman greeting and seating you for breakfast was quite loud and expressive in front of all other guests. She could have informed us much more discreetly that taking dishes were not permitted however food could be taken in tissues or held. She handled it completely without decorum and was quite rude. I wouldn’t stay again to be honest but do not regret it as my key reason was for access to the beach and the kids club which did not disappoint. General Manager, Owner at Grande Real Santa Eulalia Resort, responded to this review Dear Dee S,Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed account of your family stay at Grande Real Santa Eulália Resort & Hotel Spa. We are pleased that several of the resort’s most important family strengths stood out, especially the direct access to Santa Eulália Beach, the spacious villa, the kids’ club, the pizzeria, the gelato, the beach views, and the pleasure your child found in the resort’s outdoor spaces. Our resort is designed with a wide range of dining options, family facilities, and direct beachfront access, so it is meaningful to know that these elements served the purpose of your trip well. We also appreciate your comments regarding the welcome at reception, villa housekeeping, breakfast variety, and the manner in which the breakfast policy was communicated. These are specific observations, and they will be shared with the relevant teams, particularly where warmth, discretion, and consistency of service are concerned. Thank you as well for your thoughtful suggestion regarding additional shade in the kids’ outdoor play area. We regret that not every part of the stay matched theThank you again for staying with us and for sharing such a balanced perspective.Regards,Guest Experience Manager
