    Do NOT stay here - No beds in room

    Only good thing about this hotel is the location. There are NO beds only two small couches that are not pull out couches. You are expected to sleep on top of the hardest couch. Worst sleep we have ever got. Rooms are not cleaned and used sanitary products were in the room under the couch. When we arrived 🤮During our four night stay the room was not cleaned and no clean towels or bedding were provided Showers are either freezing cold or roasting hot.I am not at all fussy about where I’d stay but I never in my life expected that there would be no bed to sleep in. DO NOT STAY here ✌️

    booked this hotel through an online travel agent.I booked a superior studio,with double bed.On arrival was told if any complaints,to see reception again. On seeing the apartment,thought they had given us the wrong apts; There was 2 rock hard sofa beds,a galley type kitchen,A satisfactory bathroom,the door to the balcony,had a plastic type roller blind,which jammed halfway up.If you cranked your neck round the balcony you could just see the sea.In forty years of holidays,this must be the smallest apt; I have been in.So had to upgrade to a super apt;at a cost of Euro;350-00.which was a big chunk out of our holiday money.just to get a proper bed.You don't get an electric kettle,toaster or hairdryer. My computer monitor is bigger than the TV.which has 8 channels and none in English.The information book in the room is 98% portugese,so not very helpful.The hotel is dog friendly,with several canines staying at the hotel.The receptionists especially the males,are not very friendly,( a greeting and a smile would be nice.)The youngest receptionist was the best ,always helpful and smiling.

    The staff is very friendly. The hotel is old but is near the beach ( in front of) and all the rooms have sea view. You can cook there since it has a small kitchenette. It is near the city center and the pubs. More ir less 200meters.

    Me and my boyfriend went there in July. First thing that surpeised me was that they asked us at the reception to pay a “tourist fee” 4€ each. Nobody mentioned any fee when we booked the holiday and the guy from reception didn’t actualy knew how to explain it. Anyway, we got a room at the 6th floor. The elevators are too slow and too small: they can only fit 4 people, and not once we had to wait for another one, as there were a lot of families with kids.I really disliked that the garbage bin was on the corridor and due to the heat, one day it began to smell really really bad.In the room there we got (I don’t know if there are all like this) there is no bed. We had 2 sofas and we had to put them toghether to make a bad. Was not the most comfy “bed” I ever slept in, but it worked. Now some good things: the hotel staff is really nice and helpful: I asked at the reception for an ironig machine and they gave me one to use in my room, and I gave it back next day.The room is clean and they clean it and change the towels twice a week. In the kitchcen you can find, if you need, pots, plates, forks and spoons, a cooker, a microwave and a small fridge. There is a nice balcoon with a table and chairs where you can smoke. If you are lucky to get one with view to the sea, as we did, it’s lovely to get out there first thing when you wake up and enjoy the sea breeze. The hotel is quite close to the sea, only takes you 5 minutes to walk to the beach. You have plenty of shops arround and even a mini-market store where you can buy food or drinks to keep in your room. Restaurants and terraces all over the place, which is good. Beware! everything closes arround 1 am, and not much to do after this hour.

    Stayed at the Vasca Da Gama Hotel 15 times and loved every holiday, the hotel is very potugeese which we love ❤️It is very clean and staff lovely. The breakfast is fantastic there is something for everyone.But for me the pool area is the best you could ask for and to be so near to the beautiful beach , people tend to go back year after year so that says it all 👍🏻🌞🌞
