  Fantastic hotel

  My husband and myself are just home from a three night stay and are already missing this hotel. We go away every year and this place is that good we are booking here again for next year. We arrived too early for check in and because we had to wait a little the fantastic reception staff give us free drinks at the bar. Also the man behind the bar (with the glasses sorry we didnt catch his name) was brilliant my husband complimented to him how good the burgers are lol. Can't wait to come back next year.

  £150 deposit, just don’t pay!!

  I have stayed at this hotel 3 times previously when it was the Hotel California so I knew what to expect. I went with a friend, on arrival there was a group of 6 checking in and only 1 member of staff. Whilst in the queue we spoke to 2 other guests who were checking out, they advised us to be aware of the £150 deposit the hotel requested, they advised that they had not paid it as they did not have the money. When it was finally our turn at reception, we were asked to pay tourist tax which I advised we had paid when I paid for the hotel room in full and it shows on the bill, the receptionist then asked me for £150 deposit. I advised that I would not be paying £150 deposit as it was not stipulated on the bill or on the website when I booked and that I didn’t have the money and so there was nothing I could do. A male staff member then appeared, was very abrupt and rude and said that I would need to pay the £150 deposit. I told him I wasn’t going pay it and that I’ve already paid for the room and if there were any damages then I would pay for them but considering that we’re in our 40s I can’t see there being any.He then tried to show me on the website where it mentions the £150 deposit I said I wasn’t interested because I wasn’t paying it, another couple. who were also waiting to check in said that it did mention on the website that large parties could be asked to pay for a deposit, so the information on the website is clearly wrong. The reception staff were very hostile from then on. You take money with you to pay for your spends on holiday not to be handing over to staff for a deposit, which I have never been asked for in all my years of traveling. Other than that the room we had was on the eighth floor which was fine no problem. It was clean, view of the pool.However, the toilet and the shower set up was strange (I had expected a refurb to address these issues). The toilet door had a gap in it so if you’re on the toilet, everybody can hear you, if you’re in the shower there’s a mirror directly opposite the shower so whoever is sat on the bed can see you coming out of the shower, there was no wardrobe so you couldn’t hang any of your clothes up and there was no decent lighting. There was no mirror above the dressing table to use just a tall mirror or your own hand mirror. The pool staff and restaurant staff couldn’t have done more for us they were lovely. It’s just a shame that the two people on reception when we checked in at dinner time were quite rude and treated us as a burden rather than guests, however, the night staff on reception were lovely. I wouldn’t come back again because I don’t think it’s right to be asking for £150 deposit from some guests and accepting to ignore so called company policy when met with resistance from other guests, this seems unprofessional and slightly dishonest.   Lovely hotel! It is right in the thick of Old Town Albufeira but the hotel supplies earbuds - not that we needed them! The noise didn’t wake us once!Breakfast was amazing! Lovely food and drinks. Hotel, rooms and pool are spotlessly clean. Pool bar drinks and menu also great.Would recommend and return

  Amazing location if you want to be right in the middle of the party life. A very nice owner who checked us in and advised us immediately of how noisey it would get at night and that earbuds were left in the room( I had read reviews before hand so was prepared) room was clean and modern. We paid b and b however never made it up on time for the breakfast were a couple in our 40’s and first time here, we will defo be back and have recommended this b and b to our 20 year old son and friends.

  One of the best hotels we've stayed at!

  Myself and my partner stayed at Hotel Indigo for 6 nights and we absolutely loved it. The room was excellent and came with lots of useful items like towels, coffee machine, soap, shampoo, bathroom robes, hairdryers etc. . The staff were very pleasant and couldn't help us enough. The hotel let us store our luggage before check in so we could explore the old town on our first day. There is a €150 security deposit to be paid either cash or card when we arrived but we were assured by staff that this would only be a hold (as long as we didn't destroy the room!) The hotel it's right on the old town strip nestled in between some fantastic bars which was extremely handy when coming home on a night out. Some reviews complain about the noise but we were on the 4th floor and behind a booming bar but didn't have any issues with noise whatsoever. We opted for the all inclusive breakfast which we thought was brilliant. The quality of the food was excellent and had plenty of choice for all diets so we weren't eating the same thing each morning (already miss the freshly squeezed orange juice and the pastries!). The staff at breakfast were excellent and we're constantly replacing food items that had run out. By the pool area there were loads of comfortable loungers right by the pool which many people had opted to use. The poolside bar was also excellent with lovely staff and had excellent choices for drinks and prices were on par with some of the bars in the town. We missed breakfast one morning and decided to have lunch at the poolside bar instead and the food was really tasty. The pool itself was a little cold but once we braved it and jumped it we had a great time. The hotel also have a spa on the second floor and access to the heated indoor pool and sauna was included in our stay (although we did have to pay €5 each for a swimming cap although you could have brought your own). The spa pool was very relaxing with lots of different jacuzzi settings (even better that we had the whole pool to ourselves!) On our departure we checked out at 12 but our airport transfer wasn't picking us up until 6 so again the hotel staff let us store our luggage so we could have one more full day exploring different sights without worrying about hauling a suitcase around! Myself and my partner both agreed this was one of the best hotels we have stayed at and if we were ever in albufeira again we would definitely opt to stay here again!Read less
