    This hotel is useless! No cable tv, intermittent WiFi, offers a dump of a room overlooking the road . Very unhelpful reception. First of 3 nights, thinking of leaving

    Perfect hotel on a budget

    Stayed here on a solo trip (female) and felt very safe. Hotel is cleaned daily, pool is clean (it's not heated but it doesn't claim to be - it heats up with the sun!) And isn't too cold. Coffee is good, didn't have any food so cant comment on that. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. Great location 10 minute walk from the beach. Air conditioned, nice hot shower. My only niggle was the fridge in the room wasn't very cold, I'm sure it would have been fixed had I complained but I couldn't be bothered to, wasn't a massive issue. No complaints at all n would definitely stay here again. Don't listen to the bad reviews booking a budget hotel and expecting 5 stars

    I wouldn't recommend this hotel at allExpensive for what was on offerGym which was barely in use was only available to customers during 2-5 pmNot idea at all There was a very basic / minimal menuPrices at the bar varied depending on server one day a coffee was 1.5 , the next 2.5Requested an iron , none availableOver all didn't feel very clean

    This Hotel doesn't deserve a 4 star, it's was very basic, staff didn't communicate well and the service was very poor. There was a flood due to mini storm so weather wasnt the best. The food was more or even the same with no variety of different daily dishes.The indoors swimming area was very open in the middle of the hotel didnt feel comfortable especially with old men looking over. Wouldn't recommend for family and definitely wouldn't go back again !!! I've been to better 3 star hotel than this 4 star hotel !!! Also, its very expensive in Portugal 🇵🇹.

    Went for 4 days with my daughter, first impressions wasn’t great, looked very basic, the reception area looked basic, and not as knew compared to the photos. The hallway to the rooms were very basic like we were in a 2 star hotel. The room itself had everything you needed but again the decor very basic, the floor and painting of the walls looked cheap. The hairdryer on the wall in the bathroom wasn’t strong enough to dry ur hair. Definitely shouldn’t be a 4 star hotel as I have stayed in a lot better 3 star hotels, Ive never stayed in a 3 star hotel worse than this. Not many staff could speak English, struggled to order at the bar as no one could speak English. The food was awful, not much choice and not very nice. Do not include breakfast or dinner in the booking as cheaper and nicer to eat out. Breakfast was streaked smoky bacon, fried egg, scrambled egg, boiled egg, cereal, fruit, yogurt or meat. It definitely needed a different choice than just serving different kind of eggs, definitely needed to serve beans or plum tomatoes. We just had chips for tea but they did also have chicken casserole. The games room is in the same room as the indoor pool and also in the centre of everything so it felt everyone was looking at you, me and my daughter didn’t feel comfortable using the swimming pool with men drinking playing pool, and other people sitting in the same room drinking alcohol, it was too open. The swimming pool was not heated, when I asked reception if it was going to be heated as it says online she replied it’s never heated. We did try to get in but it was that cold we had to get out. They had two pool tables but only one working. No entertainment, no outdoor pool, nothing for the kids to do. Nothing to do in the local area, Other family’s we met said the same thing. There was places to eat and could walk 5 mins to the beach which was massive and lovely but the beach was the only attraction. I asked if there was anything to do but they said no just the beach, they said they don’t have tour busses or anything in monte gordo all there is to do is eat sleep go on the beach. Not many people speak English in the local area. Overall I wouldn’t recommend the hotel or monte gordo.
