  Great location for an adults trip

  If you want to be close to both the old town and new town, without being right in the middle of the noise, this hotel is perfect. The location is excellent, with shops, bars, and restaurants all within walking distance.We didn’t have much interaction with the staff, but whenever we did they were pleasant and helpful. At check-in they recommended lots of things for us to do and see, and although check-in wasn’t until later, they let us into our room at around 11:30am after our early flight with no extra charge, which was really appreciated. As we were travelling as a couple, we also weren’t charged the €300 deposit.The rooms are quite small but clean, and the hotel overall is kept very clean too. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided every day apart from the last day. However, I was a little disappointed with the cleaning standards as the cleaners seemed to do the bare minimum — mainly just making the bed — and I expected a bit more attention to detail.The pool area was kept very clean throughout the day by the hotel staff, although there is some visible wear and tear around the pools, especially the smaller one. Both pools were also very cold. More sun loungers would definitely help, as the day after we arrived a group of around 40 people checked in and it became difficult to get a lounger.The hotel itself was quiet and felt more suited to adults rather than children. The pool bar snacks were reasonably priced and tasted good.During our stay we hired a scooter from Algarve Riders for €114 for two and a half days, which I would highly recommend as it was the perfect way to get around and see the sights.The old town is absolutely stunning and has much more character, whereas the new town/strip felt very repetitive — once you’ve been in one bar, you’ve been in them all.For food, there’s an Indian restaurant about a 6-minute walk from the hotel called Clay Oven, which was incredible. We also loved a breakfast place called Sweet Break, around a 7-minute drive away. We tried Fat Cats for breakfast too but personally didn’t rate it.Overall, I would definitely stay at Ourabay again. The location, cleanliness of the hotel, and helpful staff really made the stay enjoyable.

  Went as part of a stag do and the hotel and its staff were great. As long as you respect their rules and don't go too far, you will have no issues.Location and cleanliness of the hotel and rooms is first class.

  Our 1 week stay self catering.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️✅A lot of local restaurants and shops which is handy and great if you’re doing self catering.Room was clean bed was fresh. Towels were changed when needed. The room has some imperfections etc. cracks in the tiles or chip walls/doors Also, there is a €300 deposit.❗️ If paid in cash, you get the deposit straight back into your hand❗️(if given a receipt, keep it safe)All Together, it was a wonderful experience. Staff was lovely. Swimming Pool was lovely (shallow 1meter) and (deep 1.6 meter)The view from the balcony of the town was brilliant. You can hear traffic at night time(If the door was open) The (Balcony Door) is triple/double layered window. So very quiet when closed.Highly recommend if you are on a budget holiday and don’t fancy all inclusive. Outside Bar staff lovely they have food and drinks at the designated times.Great facilities in The kitchenette has a Fridge with (small freezer), Microwave, kettle, toaster & sink.All the utensils you may need Knife, fork, spoon, etc..and washing up liquid and sponge.TV has English channels and different languages some channel languages could be changed via the remote.We didn’t try any activities. But we did try the tour train that drives around the town if you get the combo ticket it is very worthwhile all day ticket.There is two separate train trips one around the old town and one around the Newtown. You have to get off one train tour and walk to the other. All is explained on a map.Albufeira Terrace shopping centre 🛍️🛒 with food court not too far for walking if able.Uber is very cheap as well, which is great 😊Thank you so much for a lovely experience💕

  They took a 300 euro deposit from my credit card and 18 days later they have not released the hold on the funds in my account. They are not responding to my emails.

  Visited for a week with my sister. We went for a duplex room, which was fantastic over two levels. Bathroom, kitchenette, dining area and lounge with balcony on the bottom floor then up the stairs to bedroom, bathroom and a sun terrace type area. The room was dated but literally in it to get showered, changed and sleep. Room was cleaned daily and done to a high standard. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We had no issues with noise at all. The prices at the bar were reasonable, and the snacks were really good if you didn’t fancy going out for lunch. Pool area kept clean, pool was freezing but that didn’t stop my sister going in. We will definitely return to this hotel is the price is right.
