Location

The hotel is located in the fishing village of Sagres, in the Algarve. This pousada enjoys a superb position on the cliff-top, overlooking Sagres fort and the lighthouse of Cape Saint Vincent, the most south-westerly corner of Europe. Faro Airport is about 115 km away.

Facility

The hotel has 52 non-smoking rooms, which are located on 2 storeys and are reachable by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Services such as a baggage storage service and a safe ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional amenities include a TV room and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (no extra charge) or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a car hire service, room service, an alarm call service, a laundry service and a hotel doctor. A business centre with fax machine and projector is available.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. Rooms include a double bed. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. Equipped with a direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge), the rooms provide many ways for guests to stay connected and entertained. Slippers are included. The bathrooms have a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, bathrobes and a telephone are provided. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products.     Wonderful view. Plenty of parking. Bar and restaurant staff very pleasant. Rooms small and dated.Food at dinner only average, extremely slow service.Breakfast well presented but tiny amount of cereal and small milk jug.Room still not done by 3.45pm - had to ask.Dog in next door room very distressed and banging the door at night - staff did little to resolve the situation.Bottle of water on second day left with a PRICE TAG! How mean. At Estoi pousada beds were turned down each night, chocolate left and water replenished night and morning. No such niceties here.On departure no apologies made for all issues raised, not even ' did you enjoy your stay?'

    Paid for sea view room with balcony. And what a view! Everthing else - apart from most staff- was well below my expectations. The room was clean and very "tired". No turn down service as in Estoi. No little extras. In fact the free bottle of water upon arrival was not repeated on the 2nd day. A label of "€3" had been added! The special treat which had been ordered was overpriced and not special at all. And just red wine delivered - there was no choice.The rooms had thin walls so you could hear next door and the entrance doors all closed noisily. Take earplugs! And especially so if your neighbour brings their dog on holiday and leaves it alone in their room at 10pm at night so that it will make the loudest racket of scratching at the door and barking loudly. Dont ecpect the night duty porter to know what to do in these circumstances. Or expect your neighbour to be apologetic and responsive. Or the reception staff when you complain again at breakffast. See my separate review on the poor restaurant food and slowcservice. There must be better - and less expensive - hotels in Sagres?

    The suite had a very very bad smell comung from the bathroom. Bedroom with a bad smell of mold. Could not sleep for the smell. Breakfast very poor and athnosphere very sad.Hotel is really over rated. It looks like to be in a cloistered convent.What is really nice is the view!

    While ideally placed near the cliff with eye catching views of the sea, this property is quite average in accommodation and service. There is a decent breakfast, but little else. No gym or spa. The rooms have cheap toilet paper. The in-room coffee is instant. No charm or warmth. Average.

    Every room has a superb view of the Atlantic and the cliffs. It's very calm. The pool is quite lovely. Gym was closed on our visit, but we were warned. Not wild about the restaurant, to be honest. breakfast very good. Personnel extra nice. One thing that DID bother us was charging us 2,50 for a small bottle of mineral water, honestly! They really should stop that!
