Location

The apartment hotel lies on the Atlantic Ocean and offers direct access to the beach of Praia Da Rocha. Close by there are restaurants, bars and shops. The marina can be comfortably reached on foot.     Nice location. The rooms was very nice and clean. We booked anly room and breakfast (the food was very nice and diversity of choices. The atmosphere in the hotel was pleasant. Good service. Low level of noise. The only complaint was the fact the we booked for sea side view and we received road side view 😅 but was nice. We will definitely come back (hopefully with a sea side view next time) 😁

    Great hotel good location but if your a pool lover give it a miss as the view is not the best, don’t imagine it gets much sun in summer

    Off-season at Hotel da Rocha

    My husband and I stayed here during the off-season. This was the second stop on our Portugal trip. HOTEL :- staff was VERY friendly - rooms were spacious- hotel is 30 seconds from the beach!!- didn’t use the pool because it was off-season, but I noticed that it did not get very much sun - the gym was nice - breakfast buffet was AMAZING!- supper buffet is highway robbery ($30 euros per person!!… we did not go)WEATHER:- temperatures between 13-17 degrees Celsius - I would suggest packing layers- I did not wear shorts but my husband did - nobody was swimming at the beachBOARDWALK:- you can rent scooters to zip up and down the boardwalk (you will need to download the app “Bird”)- scooters on the boardwalk are constrained to the boardwalk only, you can’t take them into town- there are tons of places to check out, buy souvenirs, have coffee or eat (though about half are closed during off-season) BEACH:- is stunning!!- several places right in the beach to eat and drink- you can find sea shells and sea glass if you lookDOWNSIDES:- we ordered Uber eats a few times, requesting cutlery each time.. but never got any… napkins must be endangered because they were non-existent - when you take a shower, you also take a bath cause the tub drains are badly clogged - toilet paper… lovingly referred to as “paper paper” and also on the endangered list All in all.. great stay!I would go back in a heartbeat.

    Nice hotel, massive lovely bed. Breakfast was OK but same thing every day gets boring after a week even though there was in fairness loads of choice. This hotel has nothing for kids. There is a bar but no evidence anyone really uses it. The pool is a dissapointed. I knew it would be sheltered because it is not facing beach and surrounded by apartments so no view, I just didn't realise how cold it would be and there is no indoor pool. Rooms are cleaned everyday but a quick rub and the tiles on bathroom need a good deep scrub and it really wasn't spotless. Couldn't fault the staff, extremely nice and even offered us a breakfast pack as we were leaving. It was not soundproof rooms as the noise from slamming doors off other residents kept us awake a lot. Nice hotel but would probably try somewhere else next time.

    Centrally located near Praia de Rocha’s beautiful beach. Room spacious and comfortable. Hangers in wardrobe too high. Even my 6 foot tall partner struggled to reach. Nowhere to hang wet swimwear. Room cleaned daily but not very thoroughly.Pool area quite nice but small. Sun only on pool area for around 3 hours and only if you moved around the area. Small pool bar with limited selection of snacks and drinks (even more limited as it usually wasn’t staffed). Also no tables or chairs at pool bar.During our 9 day stay no evidence of the normal hosing down of the pool area so a bit grimy in parts.Food - breakfast was ok - usual selection of buffet breakfast food. Good coffee.Dinner - not a great selection. I appreciate buffet food isn’t always the hottest but everything was cold except the soup!Finally, and most disappointing was the lack of a bar/lounge area. There were some tables and chairs beside the restaurant but this just seemed to be used as a waiting area when the restaurant was busy. I never saw it being used as a bar/lounge.This led to a very flat atmosphere in the hotel. Fortunately a nice hotel opposite has a comfortable bar/lounge area which we used in the evenings. Maybe should have stayed there for the week.
