  After a 6 am flight I arrived at about 10 am , I didn’t expect my room to be ready then but I would have hoped for a bit of flexibility but there was none ,I was told to come back at 3pm I went up to the pool on the roof which is absolutely tiny with very few loungers , all were taken including 2 that had towels on them but no one came to them in the 5 hours that I was there but no staff thought to move them even though many people were waiting for a lounger Tried again to see if my room was ready at 2.45pm but no , this is despite the fact I saw other people being checked in , it was eventually ready at 3.05 pm Room seemed clean and tidy but the toilet was constantly running and the safe didn’t work , the safe was sorted but I was told the toilet would be looked at the next day , I was also told they were looking to see if they could upgrade me , the next day no one fixed the toilet and when I asked about the upgrade they acted as if they didn’t know what I was talking about Woke early most mornings by the barking dogs in the apartments opposite Breakfast was pretty dismal rubbery scramble eggs , greasy bacon , coffee from a machine to put in your tiny thimble like cup that was only a bit smaller than the breakfast plates Be aware that there is no specific bar area , the bar consists of the counter that is in the breakfast area which also doubles up as the restaurant area Other than the rooftop pool there is also no other outdoor space where you could sit and have a drink and for some bizarre reason the doors are locked to get there until 10am and the refreshments bar doesn’t open until about 11am Also don’t expect to be able to get a drink after 12 as it is deserted ,oh and apparently you can get room service but no menus in your room as apparently your meant to do it on a app Agência BrandChoice, Marketing at The Prime Energize, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.We are sorry to read that your stay did not fully meet your expectations.   Great hotel nice and clean 😊

  Plus side Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful especially the restaurant staff. Rooms cleaned daily although not at regular times. Nice supply of toiletries, clean towels etc. Hotel situated only 2 rows back from main drag so a very nice location. Breakfast could be somewhat chaotic with the level of diners but sufficient staff to manage it all. Nice selection of food all round, meat and fish always for evening meal, amazing choice of salads and hot/ cold choices for breakfast. Minus side Our room was lovely however disappointing that the furniture showed hardship and was chipped etc. Shame when the vestibule showed such promise. Landing flooring also showed several signs of great wear. Rooftop pool is great but not many sun loungers, get there early! That said, we would definitely return. Beach has lovely soft sand, great holiday for a fly and flop.   A relaxing break

  Enjoyed our 4 night break at this hotel. The staff were very accommodating and helpful, the hotel is fresh & clean and the breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice. It’s only a short walk from the little town and beach area. Although it has a pool on the rooftop it is only small with few sun beds which get snapped up quickly. The only issue we had was for two women in a twin room there is no storage. The wardrobe space is tiny and only three drawers. No storage in the bathroom either so we had to ask for a spare chair to hang our clothes over. The rooms need reorganising to include bedside tables with drawers, change the table for the kettle etc to include drawers. Must have been designed by a man as not many plug sockets either!   Appalling Negligence: A Head Injury and Total Radio Silence

  I am writing this to warn future guests about a significant safety risk at Prime Energize and the appalling lack of professionalism from their management.During my stay in mid-March 2026, I suffered a head injury due to a dangerously installed in-room safe. The safe was positioned at head height and, due to a mechanical failure, the heavy door would not stay shut, swinging open into the path of guests. I struck my head on the open safe door, resulting in a medically diagnosed concussion upon my return to the U.S. and a full week of missed work.My husband reported this incident immediately to the staff on duty the morning it happened. Since returning home, I have sent multiple follow-up emails to the hotel management. They have completely ignored every communication. It is one thing for a hotel to have a maintenance oversight; it is another entirely for a business to show such a callous disregard for a guest’s physical safety and well-being. If you value your safety and expect a basic level of human or professional response when things go wrong, do not stay here. There are plenty of other options in Monte Gordo that actually care about their guests.
