  This place is just fantastic.

  The hotel is a complex, composed of several, distinct buildings. The whole, situated in a very vast, safe, hospitable resort. An entire village of hotels and lodging units, actually. With various related facilities.We stayed in the main building. In a Junior Suite, with a sea view. A spacious suite, very clean, with high ceilings. The view is extraordinary.The buffet, whether in the morning or the evening, is way above average, in terms of quality, originality and variety. From what I understood, during our stay, they had just hired a new chef in the kitchen. A very good one, indeed.All the staff members, in any department, are all very keen to assist you. Always with a warm smile, and the right attitude.The beach is near-by. There is a very nice bar there.We had a truly memorable stay in this great establishment. Abrigado.

  We were here for 5 days for a friends wedding in the area. We travelled as a couple and with a big group of friends. This hotel was amazing, rooms were nice, spacious and comfortable. The grounds were very nice and well kept. Staff was great as well. Breakfast was amazing, couldnt have asked for a better selection. We had a car and parking was a breeze too (on site). Would recommend and will return with our family.   had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The suites were comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was very kid-friendly, with plenty of amenities for families, and had direct access to a beautiful beach. The complimentary breakfast was also very nice, with a great variety to start the day off right. Highly recommend for a relaxing and family-friendly getaway!   Avoid NAU Hotels & Resorts: Far from 5-Star Standards—Worse Than a Budget StayI recently stayed at NAU Dunas Suites, and what was supposed to be a luxury 5-star experience turned into a holiday nightmare. I want to warn others considering booking with this brand not to make the same mistake. The property failed to meet even the most basic expectations of a 5-star resort, and the issues we encountered were endless. Frankly, this stay was worse than you’d expect at a budget chain like Travelodge or Premier Inn, yet we paid a premium price for a supposed luxury experience.Here’s a breakdown of what went wrong during our stay: • Rooms that Fall Short of Luxury: We were promised high-quality suites but ended up with uncomfortable twin beds pushed together without proper bedding, stained mattresses, and even a persistent sewage smell in one of the master bedrooms. Rather than addressing the issue, the management sprayed an air freshener, leaving us to sleep in a room filled with sewage and artificial fragrance. Unacceptable! • Non-Functional Facilities: When we were moved to a second suite, the air conditioning didn’t work for three days. The issue was only acknowledged after repeated requests when the engineer confirmed that the units were beyond repair. How can a supposed 5-star resort have non-functioning AC? • Poor Cleanliness Standards: Stained walls, dirty robes left by previous guests, cobwebs, ants—these are just a few of the hygiene issues we encountered. We had to repeatedly chase after housekeeping to address these problems, which is far from the standard you’d expect at a premium property. Frankly, even a basic Travelodge or Premier Inn would maintain better cleanliness than what we saw here. • Misleading Spa Facilities: The property advertised access to spa facilities, yet upon arrival, we were informed that the spa had been out of order for months, with only the gym and therapy sessions available. This is not what was advertised and significantly detracted from our ability to relax. • Cosmetic Damage Throughout: In addition to the major issues, the property had several cosmetic faults like chipped paint, visible wear and tear, and poorly maintained fixtures. These may seem minor, but they add up to an overall feeling of a poorly managed and maintained property—definitely not what you expect when paying for a 5-star experience. • Unresponsive and Dismissive Management: Throughout our stay, management was dismissive of our complaints. When we requested a new room due to the unbearable conditions, we were even told to consider checking out and finding another hotel—an impossible suggestion during peak season when 5-star alternatives were fully booked. Offering a meager 10-20% discount after everything we endured was just adding insult to injury.Our holiday, which was meant to be a relaxing escape, became a constant battle to get the basic standards you’d expect from any hotel, let alone one that markets itself as a luxury resort. It was a deeply frustrating and stressful experience that I wouldn’t wish on anyone.Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere. If you’re looking for a true 5-star experience, you won’t find it here. Frankly, you’d be better off at a Travelodge or Premier Inn—they might not promise luxury, but at least they deliver on the basics. We left feeling disappointed, misled, and in need of another holiday just to recover from the stress. We value all guest comments and would like to address your concerns in detail.Room Conditions: You mentioned dissatisfaction with the quality of your suite, citing issues such as uncomfortable beds and a sewage smell. We would like to clarify that the sewage smell was minimal. However, upon your report, we promptly offered a room move to the main building the next day ( since it was already late at night ) and provided two complimentary massages as compensation.Non-Functional Facilities: The AC units were always operational, although you noted noise issues. While we attempted to address this, two units were damaged during repairs. We offered a 20% discount and a family dinner as compensation, along with a room move, which you declined.Cleanliness Standards: You indicated there were cleanliness issues, including stains and insects. We must emphasize that there were no ant problems; only one fly was observed, which is common in a beach resort. As for the robes, one was removed by an external company due to its location ( on top of a very high palm tree ), and at this point, we cannot confirm the other cleanliness issues mentioned.Misleading Spa Facilities: Regarding the spa, we had communicated that it was unavailable prior to your arrival. However, guests could still have massages onsite and access gym facilities. Spa circuit was available at our neighboring hotel. All information was provided when you booked directly.Cosmetic Damage: Your feedback on the cosmetic condition of the property is noted and we must inform you that we are in the process of planning full refurbishments starting next month.Management Response: We apologize if you felt that our management team was dismissive of your concerns. Our intention was always to assist you, and we did offer a full refund after your first night, which you declined and alternative rooms on two occasions, and our team, including the Duty Manager and the General Manager's assistant, was in constant contact with you. Given your decision to stay for the ten nights, we find it difficult to reconcile this with the characterization of your stay as a "holiday nightmare." Furthermore, as it was low season in the Algarve, there were indeed other hotel options available should you have chosen to leave.We acknowledge your frustration and appreciate your insights.   Wonderful hotel

  We have loved staying in this hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The location for us is perfect as we have a car ( which I think you need staying here). The beach just a short stroll away is amazing. There are so many great restaurants around here The Jompra , O’hameiros, Luna ( Italian) Ramires ( for authentic Piri Piri chicken). Just to name a few. Albufeira is a ten/fifteen minute drive away. We stayed mid October and it was fairly quiet, we were fortunate enough to be offered a free upgrade to a suite. I celebrated my birthday whilst here and a cake and miniature port was delivered to our room, for my husband and I. The hotel is very clean, our only criticism is maybe the corridors need updating but we would 100% recommend this hotel from our experience and we would love to come back here next year.
