  SUPERB HOTEL IN A PERFECT LOCATION, LOOK NO FURTHER!

  We have just come to the end of 5 glorious days here in Albufeira, celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary in Old Town and staying in this wonderful hotel. We did a lot of research and settled on this place, and were so glad we did. Vila Sao Vicente is a very charming boutique hotel situated on the very edge of Old Town and very short walk to the beach. Although it is close to all the action, it is so quiet there day and night which is lovely. It’s an adults only place too so no hectic kids ruining the ambiance, bliss. The room, small but impeccably clean and with everything you need, a very comfy bed, fabulous bathroom with plenty of good pressure hot water in the shower and lots of storage for your clothes. The air con is excellent too which keeps the room lovely and cool in the hot weather. We had a balcony with a sea view which added to the charm. The balcony is small but good enough for enjoying the view with a drink in the evening. The room was cleaned every day and fresh linen and towels provided too. We had breakfast included, its continental style which is fine by us. Fresh fruit and yogurt, great cold meat selection, fresh bread and croissants, cereals and tea and coffee. All presented very well and regularly topped up when it’s running low. We enjoyed it every morning sitting on the terrace by the pool and taking in the view, wonderful start to the day. There’s a lot of reviews on here moaning about the lack of variety at breakfast, absolute nonsense. The selection is excellent a really healthy too. Give your cholesterol a break and enjoy this fine spread. How you can eat a full English in 24 degree heat is beyond me. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room but that was fine, as it’s a relatively small hotel so just pop down and the bar will provide you with hot water if you’re desperate for your afternoon cup of Twinings!The staff are so lovely here and cannot do enough for you. So friendly and always available to help with every query you may have, another bonus in my book. There are loads of small beautiful beaches just a ten minute taxi ride away, and the hotel staff will provide you with beach towels and umbrella if you need any, really nice touch. Take an Uber, £4.50 each way, bargain. Our favourite was Praia do Coelho, Rabbit Beach, so beautiful with soft sand and clear sea water, just gorgeous, with a fabulous cafe/restaurant serving fresh fish dishes every day.   Lovely gem of a hotel

  We were slightly apprehensive prior to arriving at this hotel because on our previous visits to Albufeira ( staying at a different hotel) the advertised pictures did not reflect the actual reality of the establishment. At Vila Sao Vincente, the opposite was true. The rooms and the facilities are actually far prettier in real life. Below, I will outline the positives and (few) negatives of the hotel:The positives:1. The rooms are luxurious with a lovely view over the entire beach. Even if you didn’t want to go out at night drinking you could easily nurse a bottle of wine on the balcony watching the tinkling lights of the boats which are out at sea or watch people taking their evening walks along the beach.2. The rooms are cleaned daily which is something I never experienced at other hotels. Which is great because if you accidentally bring sand into the room from the beach, you know that the floors will be swept and mopped in the morning. Likewise the bedsheets and towels are refreshed each day.3. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Operating quietly in the background to keep the hotel immaculate. We arrived much earlier than the stated check in time but instead of telling us to go and come back later, the receptionist arranged for our room to be cleaned pronto. We were able to leave our suite case at reception and enjoy an ice cold beer whilst our room was cleaned.4. The view from the rooms balcony and the terrace was amazing and the hotel is located within less than 5 minutes of supermarkets, a pharmacy, souvenir shop, football pub, and restaurants.5. Although, the hotel is perched on a cliff, there is a lift close by for people to easily get down to the beach. There is also an additional sun terrace which I had not seen pictures of on the booking website with plenty of sunbeds and tables.The only negatives are:1. There is no lounge/ chilled music on the terrace/ pool deck which would definitely provide a better atmosphere to relax. This is especially true in the evenings. The hotel could do with putting tea lights on the terrace tables and playing soft jazz/ rock etc. Had this been the case during our stay, we would have happily stayed in most nights and spent our money in the hotel’s bar.2. The hotel bar is slightly expensive and doesn’t seem to offer happy hour. It is a shame that you can’t buy small snacks from the bar either such as olives or small tapas plates.Overall we had a great stay in this hotel and would definitely recommend this establishment.

  This hotel is in the best location for exploring the old town of Albufeira and also the beach.The breakfast was excellent - I highly recommend the yoghurt and fresh fruit. The hotel was lovely and clean with plenty of space around the pool and terrace area to be either in the sun or shade. Would happily stay here again.

  Perfect for Us!

  Perfect for us- the location in Old Town is close to everything- great restaurants, beaches, the marina, grocery stores- BUT it is quiet! We had no desire to be in the crazy party zone and this was perfect!When our flight was cancelled due to maintenance issues and we arrived in the wee hours, they accommodated us and made provision for us to get a key and get to bed.Showers are hot and water pressure is good.The breakfast is lovely and staff take great care in it being fresh and well-presented.The front desk staff are exceptional- they patiently and accurately handled all our questions and made great recommendations of places to go for dinner and helped us navigate a potential rail strike.We will definitely stay here again!!Note- it is an adult only building

  Small and unfriendly

  Stayed here in April I found it a noisey property, there’s a steel outside stairs and when someone uses them it’s very noisey in the room. The hotel itself is small and the rooms are small but it is very clean and the location is good, walking distance from old town. Unfortunately I felt the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Particularly in the morning, breakfast was very limited, if you requested an item I felt the staff when asked made you feel uncomfortable. The power went while we were there (not the hotels fault) there was nothing offered to guests to help them out and when asked the answer was simple sorry we can’t do that. E.g light for room, food. The pool is small but nice but there was only about 8 or 9 sun loungers, so you better be up early to get them. Way over priced for what you get in my opinion. Wouldn’t return
