    Don’t ask for Gluten Free

    Resort hotel, convenient for ferry. When I asked if I could have gluten free bread at breakfast I was given a blunt “No”. Reception later explained that although management were aware that many people asked for gluten free options, it was not policy to provide them or indicate which allergens were present. Otherwise the hotel is pleasant, spacious and has a nice outdoor pool. Restaurant not open for evening meals.

    Everything is above 10+. Room good size beds comfy breaky yummy. Nothing wrong at all. Walking distance to everything.

    Hotel has potential to be fantastic but let down by some economy decisions. We stayed a week but there is no kettle in the room only a coffee machine. They only supply 5 pods after which you have to buy more. The bar is only open from 19:00 and is restricted. There is a bar that is run by the reception staff but they haven't been trained. (A gin and tonic is not a cocktail. )There is a pool but it is unheated. ⁰The restaurant only serves breakfast.It's biggest plus is it's location close to the ferry and Whale watching centres.

    I am really puzzled by all the very negative reviews. I stayed here for 6 nights as part of a whale and dolphin watching trip, and it's a very nice, clean and comfortable hotel. I would really recommend it if you are coming to Pico. Particularly as it's almost opposite the ferry terminal and really close to the whale and dolphin trips out - five minutes away.I don't know if it's been upgraded recently but the bathroom in our room was in excellent condition, no damaged tiles or grouting as you would expect in something inferior. The beds were comfortable, the room was big enough for two people with wardrobe capacity, a desk, a fridge, two chairs and the curtains were of good quality. The air conditioning worked well, and so did the TV and wifi.We had breakfast every day and there is a lot of choice and it's a nice good breakfast. The staff were pleasant and the rooms are cleaned and sheets and towels changed every day. There is comfortable furniture in the reception area to sit and wait for friends.The only slight negative is that they don't tell you about the safe - there isn't one in the room so I had to ask at reception. There are some safes next to reception that aren't visible unless you are shown them.So as it stands in May 2025, a lot of the negative comments aren't applicable in my opinion.

    Never seen an hotel where you have to pay before entering with an empty minibar in top orbite and a crappy breakfast in the morning…Petsonnal is incompetent and unprofessional deserve to clean the streets in Pico not welcoming guests I recommend to stay at Calma do Mar for 44€ a night and never here Jean Christophe Nicolas Romantchic February 26 at night going to his lawyer tomorrow to sue the direction of this hotel
