  Really Enjoyed My City's Hostel Stay

  Highly recommend this hostel. It was my first stay in a hostel as there was a big event happening this weekend and hotels were very pricey. Therefore I thought I would give it a try as it looked very decent from the pictures and reviews. I was correct! I stayed 3 nights. Very clean and over the top helpful and friendly staff. Especially TELMA! She was awesome! You can tell all the staff actually cared about their jobs and made it that much more inviting.Comfortable sleep and very close to everything.Even helped me with airport transfers, day tours and general knowledge of the island.Loved my stay!Sincerely,Daniel

  The service for the price was a great deal. The breakfast is good. But the best thing was the front desk girls (esp Telsa). They were very helpful and informative for a 1st time Azores traveler. Also flexible and patient to me changing rooms and plans. Decent access to parking and I noticed that the owner give up his parking to another guest when parking was taken. Thanks

  I stayed at City's Hostel for a week this summer and I must say the hostel is incredibly clean at all times. They also offer a breakfast which is fairly basic but nice. (bread, fruit, yogurt, deli meats) Though I must say, the hostel is somewhat lacking atmosphere in my opinion. I can see how a solo traveler would have a hard time having fun once returning to the hostel after their daily activities. Perhaps some games in the common areas, or hosting an activities night for guests to meet-and-greet.

  One of the worst services i´ve had

  I arrived on a holiday (easter sunday) and there was no staff in the hostel! when i rang the bell a person said that i received an email with all the explanations about how to get in the place and the room (no one told me about this before hand and received the email when i was flying to the destination), but he said over the intercom the code to get in. The hostel and the rooms are clean, but really the staff was almost non existante, they didnt help at all with directions and things to do, they communicated basically by email. The day i left, i wanted to leave my luggage in the storage room (since my flight left in late afternoon) and i couldnt do that either because the only staff left at noon and she locked the room.Worst service ever! would NOT recommend this at all! Pedro R, Gerente at City's Hostel Ponta Delgada, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for your review and sorry your stay at our hostel was not perfect as usually is for our guest.Actually, on Easter Sunday our colleague went home earlier with the authorization of the manager to be with her family too since everything was ready. Actually for a late check-in, and when we know that our colleague is not there, we send all the entrance information by e-mail and that works with many of guest all days with no problem at all, sorry that you don't enjoy the way we work.What we really don't understand is when you say there is nobody at the hostel. we have always somebody at the hostel from 8h to 13h and from 14h to 20h and they are there to help you with anything. Actually, I don't remember any e-mail that you send us. It is possible to do late Check Out and for that, we don't use the room locker, since those are for next guest, but you can leave it with us and pick up later, that happens a lot, and really don't understand why doesn't work with you. I will check what went wrong on this case.Meanwhile sorry again that you didn't enjoy our service and we will try to improve our customer service and provide some more informations.
