The bungalow complex is located between Vila Franca do Campo and Furnas, 150 m away from the Furnas lake, an emblematic area of the Azores. It is known for its natural beauty, the surrounding parks and the presence of the fumaroles. It is situated 40 km away from the city of Ponta Delgada, and 45 km from João Paulo II Airport.

Facility

The bungalow complex has a lift and features 10 apartments. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities available at the complex include a baggage storage service, a safe and a cash machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The complex has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The complex has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. Everyday necessities can be purchased at the supermarket. Guests of the complex can enjoy various recreational facilities, including the garden, during their stay. Additional amenities include a TV room, a playroom and a library. Sport

While the adults swim a few laps in the outdoor pool, children can enjoy splashing about in their own swimming area. Sun loungers and parasols the sun terrace complete the holiday. There is a poolside snack bar as well. Those who wish to stay active while on holiday can enjoy on-site tennis. For a fee, cycling/mountain biking is also available. Water sports on offer include snorkelling or, for a fee, canoeing and diving. The fitness rooms are perfect for a comprehensive workout. A spa and massage treatments are available in the wellness area. Guests of all ages have the opportunity to enjoy a fun entertainment programme.

    Self catering and using hotels facilities - all really good Very peaceful spot. Two days relaxing and walking round beautiful Furnas Lake ( crater) - close to Interpretation Centre ( everything you might need to know about creation of Azores from volcanoes) - thermal pools - cooking in fumaroles. We walked everywhere - just over hour to Furnas town and amazing Terra Nostra botanic gardens with bubbling lake and warm water pools. If self catering bring supplies- long walk and steep climb back from town!

    Best stay in a crowded Sao Miguel. The staff at Furnas were excellent - personable and professional. The rooms were minimalist but we enjoyed the one bedroom style very much while our children had ample space in their separate studio building. The grounds are peaceful and tranquil. It was lovely to spend time by the pool after a busy day. The spa was being built - this will be an amazing addition! The specialty cocktails were ingenious and delicious - as was the dining. This is a must stay! It also provided access to many of the wonderful adventure spots on this side of the island.     We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The setting is quiet and peaceful. Modestly, but tastefully decorated, all spaces were comfortable. Our accommodation was clean and very comfortable. Every member of the staff we met was warm, friendly and helpful. I didn’t use it, but the small pool looked good. Breakfast was very good with a decent variety of breads, fruit, eggs, etc. Excellent bar. The restaurant was a slight problem. The à la carte menu is only available to guests. Otherwise, your only choices are prix fixe tasting menus of 75 Euros (each) or more. I never ate there, having learned of the à la carte requirement near the end of my stay. But several couples dining while I had a drink appeared pleased.     Beautiful location and across the cobbled road from the stunning lake.Very peaceful and food was expensive but beautiful.We loved the peaceful location.Rooms are modestly decorated and Worth noting that the beds are very firm so not a comfortable stay and there are no curtains at all in lounge area where second bed is. Making mornings tricky!! Visit the furnas hot springs as a must but parking is very difficult!!     Furnas Lake Forest Living is the perfect place to stay when you visit Sao Miguel—especially for travelers seeking a good balance of comfort and independence.First, the location is absolutely to die for—convenience-wise, it’s right across from the lake and from Mata Jardim Jose do Canto, and a very short drive from the town of Furnas proper. Beauty-wise, you feel like you are being embraced by the forest when you stay here. The grounds are just so lovely and peaceful, even on the Azores’ more foggy days.Second, the room I stayed in (Oak studio) was excellent. It even had a little kitchen, which I was not expecting and was a very welcome bonus. It feels more like staying in a small apartment than a hotel room—even though the extremely lovely and helpful staff are just around the corner and happy to bring you anything you need. For example, I always find the mattresses abroad to be hard and tough on my back, and the staff made up my bed with an extra mattress topper and blankets to increase the softness :)Third, the food is incredible. The dinner was the best meal I had the whole time I was on the island, and the breakfasts offer a ton of variety. I would love a recipe for that banana jam! There were so many nice touches—like the little arrangements of greenery and flowers pruned from their grounds that they put in the rooms and all over the property, or the jars of green tea and butter cookies left in your room when you check in. After my stay at Furnas Lake, I spent two nights at Octant Furnas—a larger, “fancier” hotel with more amenities—and I honestly did not enjoy it half as much. The more resort-y vibe of Octant simply didn’t mesh nearly as well with the feeling of the Azores and of the island. Sao Miguel is a unique destination that requires a unique hotel. Furnas Lake’s eco-conscious focus, coupled with its exceptional hospitality, is the answer. I really felt like a special guest on someone’s beautiful estate, and in fact almost like an old friend.
