  Be careful with their no-show policy — even force majeure doesn't matter to management

  The hotel itself may be fine, but I strongly advise any traveller — whether an individual tourist or part of a group — to think twice before reserving here.Our Erasmus delegation (7 teachers from France and Italy) had booked and fully prepaid rooms for February 8–14, 2026. Due to severe weather conditions, our flights were unable to land on Terceira Island and we were diverted, arriving two days late through absolutely no fault of our own. We were literally on the plane, ready to come.Despite providing full explanations and offering to supply official flight diversion records and weather reports, management refused any refund for the two unused nights and three unused breakfasts. Their response? Strict application of the no-show policy — no exceptions, no nuance, regardless of the circumstances.The front desk contact (Alina) was genuinely kind and clearly uncomfortable with the decision, which tells you everything about where the problem lies: with management's rigidity, not the staff.If your flight gets delayed, diverted, or cancelled for any reason — weather, technical issues, anything — don't expect this hotel to show the slightest flexibility. You will lose your money, full stop. This is not a place that looks after its guests when things go wrong.If you value knowing that you will be treated fairly in an unexpected situation, book somewhere else. There are plenty of other options on Terceira Island.

  The shower floods the whole bathroom!

  We stayed 3 nights and it was mostly okay. The rooms are comfortable and the beds are as well. The breakfast offers a lot of selections. There isn’t a restaurant on site, just a lounge that has a very small selection of snack items. The outside noise in the rooms is very loud. It is like there is no window, and there is a lot of road traffic and a fire station mere steps from the hotel. We had a huge issue with the shower. Every time we had a shower, the whole bathroom flooded! It was completely unacceptable and unsafe. The staff at the front desk did absolutely nothing to address this concern. They kind of laughed and said that they had heard this complaint before and that it happens in other rooms as well. I would not stay here again.

  Very noisy.Unfortunately if you need to rest, definitely it is not the best option. Even if the staff is very polite and nice.The acoustics are very bad.

  The welcome at this hotel was nice, its located close to the main streetsThe room was a good size with a huge bed.The bed was comfortable.There was a nice shower, the room had Air Con.There was a safe but no instructions in English and I closed it but I couldn’t open it again…!There was a kettle.There was a mini bar which was locked, so why have it there? The toiletries were very poor quality. I had a good breakfast in the dining room on day one, however on day two I needed to have the take-away breakfast which was very very poor.The sandwich was made of processed white bread, a rubbery cheese slice, processed ham slice, totally dry and tasteless, there was a pre-packaged cup cake, an apple and juice.I threw most of it in the bin, I couldn’t eat it…!There was a festival going on in the town “sanjoaninas” and people were arriving back to their rooms until the early hours of the morning and the noise from the corridor and the neighbouring rooms was excessive. I got no sleep that night! I was disturbed on many occasions. The reception staff need to remind guests to be aware of other guests when they arrive back late on nights like this.

  A nice hotel with one major flaw (for us).

  I'll give it 3 stars for one main reason - humidity in the rooms. Yes, it is logical to be humid in a place like the Azores, but not in a 4-star hotel, which otherwise well deserves its rating here. We have been on daily hikes and it took us a while with the help of a hair dryer to dry our shoes and clothes. Otherwise, they would never dry and our plans would have been spoilt. Other than that, the rooms are nice and spacious and the hotel is nice overall. A special mention goes to the housekeeping team. They provide 5-star service. Our clothes were folded and hung in the wardrobe, and the cleaning was simply impeccable. They really deserve a special mention here! The location is also cool, just a short walk to downtown and a quick ride out of the town to explore the beautiful Terceira.Breakfast could have had a bit more choices to justify the 4 stars, but the basics are covered. Good for cake lovers (which I am not lol, but my partner thoroughly enjoined). I would probably look for something else next time purely for humidity in the rooms.
