Location

This hotel enjoys a privileged location, on the western side of Angra do Heroísmo, by the Atlantic Ocean. It is set in the Silveira bathing area, framed by the Monte Brasil Crater, which overlooks the entire bay. It offers breathtaking views of the sea, mixed harmoniously with the green of the vegetation. The hotel is 15 minutes' walk from the historical centre of Angra do Heroísmo, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. The architectural lines of the hotel connect graciously with the landscape, inviting relaxation and enjoyment of its tranquillity and beauty. Guests will find bars, links to the public transport network and a bus station in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Shopping venues are located a 15-minute walk away in Angra do Heroísmo.

Facility

The hotel has 6 junior suites, 11 suites and 83 double rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Various dining options are available, including a restaurant, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and full board. A continental breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can order à la carte. Set menus are available at lunch. Diet meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options. The hotel offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    If you want a view, this is your place. Other than that, it was very run down and needs a deep clean. The room smelled old and musty, the patio table hadn’t been cleaned in a while, and the whole hotel felt damp and moldy. I ended up changing hotels after 2 hours because I wasn’t comfortable.     Great Hotel but a 30 minute walk into town

    Lovely hotel - it is about 30 minutes walk into the centre of town. Make sure you ask for a sea view room. We also upgraded to a Suite Seaview Double - this is on the top floor and is split level, so there is a lounge area downstairs with a balcony and a bedroom upstairs - bathroom on each floor and TV on each floor - we had Room 421 which was very good - Room 427 would be on the end nearest the sea, so may be better. Great view of the sea, outdoor pool and public beach/area where the locals go to swim and jump and dive into the sea.The public areas of the hotel are lovely but the rooms and bathrooms are a little tired.     It’s the third time I stay here at the hotel caracol . nice location, nice view amazing customer service and a good breakfast. I just love it. Super quiet nice view to the ocean they have gym pool etc another thing this place is very very clean. They clean all day. Love it.     No Dining service in the bonies

    Hotel is pleasant, great indoor pool, nice snack bar But it is vacant and isolated. There is no option for dinner in the hotel with no response within safe walking distance.The hotel dining room is not open for dinner, only breakfast -,quite different from promotion Maybe on season, it would be ok but avoid unless you wish to drive a distance for everything .     I stayed here for 1 week in November. The room was clean with plenty of room. I don't know why people are focusing on the 6 hankie thing, it was not an issue for me. There is toilet roll in the room with new ones put in as required. The cleaner does a great job. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fine, scrambled egg, toast, pancakes, bacon, sausages, cheese, ham, rolls, fruit, cake and cereal so enough choice to have something to eat.The hotel is around a 15 min walk into town which is easy to do. There is a sea swimming area right next to the hotel also.The hotel pool and gym were good.Overall it was a good hotel to use as a base. I recommend the Texan bar for an evening meal, it's very good.
