Location

This hotel is located in the mystic Furnas Valley, adjacent to the botanical gardens of rare beauty. Lying just 10 minutes drive from the centre of Furnas, it is also just 10 minutes by car to the pleasant volcanic beaches of Ribeira Quente. Moreover, various other towns are within a short drive of the hotel: Povoação (approximately 20 minutes away), Vila Franca do Campo (some 25 minutes from the hotel), the ‘Nordeste’ region (40 minutes) and Ponta Delgada (ca. 45 min). The town of Sete Cidades with its lake is about 1 hour away.

Facility

The hotel has 2 suites, 2 single rooms and 77 double rooms, which are located on 3 storeys and are reachable by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the 24-hour reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access in public areas (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions.     This is a really wonderful place with a lovely garden and the thermal bath was just great. We enjoyed it very much. As it was my birhday upon arrival, we were greated with a bottle of sparkling wine in the room....thank you again for the lovely gesture . I appreciated that very much.

    Very comfortable hotel right on the grounds of the botanical garden. As guests we could go into the botanical garden and its thermal pools anytime of the day. There are two smaller pools set into the garden vegetation that provided thermal waters, clearer and hotter than the main pool, that we had to ourselves. Dinner and bar service and food selection were excellent, including the traditional volcanic steam dinner. Concierge provided helpful assistance booking taxis for private tours.

    Great service and excellent restaurants. The 24/7 access to the hot springs and botanical garden is definitely worth the price. We truly enjoyed the thermal baths, especially having access outside of public hours. Highly recommend this hotel, 10/10!

    Still a lovely location, and access to the geothermal baths is certainly a memorable plus. But the in-house catering is overpriced to the point of insulting classic Portuguese hospitality, some of the staff are clearly not having a great time working there and a few of the design decisions (plain glass in bathroom windows) are just silly.
