Location

This eco-hotel is located in a rustic setting amidst the untouched nature of the northeast of Sao Miguel Island. It is wonderfully situated and affords outstanding views out over the sea and the exclusive Serra da Tronqueira. Enchanting beaches and glorious hiking trails can be found in the surrounding area. The centre of Vila do Nordeste can be reached in around 1 minute on foot, it is about 10 km to the Miradouri da Ponta da Madrugada viewpoint, and Vila Franca do Campo lies some 50 km from the hotel.

Facility

A suite, 4 apartments and 20 double rooms are available to guests in a 3-storey main building and 2 auxiliary buildings. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions.     Great place for leisure after walking. Spacious well equipped rooms - ask for sea view. Outdoor & indoor swimming pool & sauna. Good restaurant & very friendly, attentive staff

    We absolutely loved our stay at the Lince hotel. Initially, we were a bit worried about the location and how it appeared to be far from most of the island's attractions, but São Miguel really is quite small and can be crossed from side to side in around 1 hour on very good roads. So the location was actually great, and Nordeste turned out to be a really lovely village, perfect for evening walks after dinner. The hotel was pretty much ideal, the room was spacious and had very good air-conditioning, the balcony had lovely views of the village, and the pools were excellent. If I wanted to be critical, I could say that the heated pool and spa area overall were a bit small, but still it never seemed to be crowded. Also, the breakfast was a bit repetitive, but still very pleasant, with local foods the best orange juice we've ever had. It's hard to find anything to dislike, and overall our stay was very pleasant and very reasonably priced, and the staff were lovely - they even gave us a breakfast to-go basket and made us coffee at 4am on our last day, as we had an early flight. If we are ever back in São Miguel, we will definitely stay at the Lince again!

    Pro:- the view. Sat on a hilltop overlooking the town in ocean. Most rooms have a balcony overlooking this so it’s very peaceful and scenic. Beautiful sunsets.-Staff was very friendly and it has a beautiful lobby- Large indoor pool with sauna- nice indoor restaurant, which is good for dinner since places close early in the town.Not Pros-the room was nice and spacious however, it lacks the amenities of other hotels, such as slippers, robes, etc. no conditioner. More of a standard room then upscale - pool was cold if not in the sun Overall, it was a beautifully scenic hotel, and I would stay here for the views

    Excellent location, excellent staff (front desk and restaurant), and a very nice overall stay. Restaurant has a large lounge which is perfect for relaxing while enjoying a drink or desert. The Nordeste area is fantastic, but one must keep in mind that it's about 45 minutes by car from the airport (although an easy drive). Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the city center, which has a good grocery store (Spar) and post office, as well as some nice places to eat.

    What a wonderful retreat in one of the most beautiful parts of São Miguel! The Lince Nordeste offered an unforgettable experience. Both the indoor and outdoor pools were absolutely enchanting, and the dinner was exquisite—Azorean specialties with a modern twist. The view overlooking Nordeste town was stunning, and it only takes about 3 minutes to walk into the town centre. Plenty of easy parking, lovely room design, and some of the friendliest, most helpful staff we met during our trip. Truly a peaceful and memorable escape!
