  Good but could be better

  Good but could be better - central location and rooms are well-appointed (we had a one-bedroom suite with a nice balcony). Overall, customer service was lacking. When we checked-in, the customer service rep was not overly friendly. When we got to the room, it was incredibly hot. I returned downstairs and was told it was central heating and AC had not been turned on (in late-May) and she basically told us to “open the doors.” It was incredibly uncomfortable for the 5 nights we were there by not being able to turn AC on. We also asked for an extra (second) luggage rack - and was told that they only had enough for one per room. Housekeeping also completely missed our room one of the days - the dish towel was stained from bleach and one of our shower towels was ripped. Breakfast was fine - service was minimal (they would simply ask your room number and you had to go up to up and order off menu as if you were bothering them). It’s lovely they have an in-room sound system (with absolutely no instructions on how to use anything) - would have preferred ability to control room temperature instead. If some improvements were made (including customer service), this property could be much better.

  A perfect stay. Excellent.

  We don't write many reviews, but The Shipyard Angra deserves one for their outstanding efforts during our 3-night stay in mid-April. This is a lovely and perfectly sized property well-located on the edge of Angra's town centre, and away from all of those narrow roads. Complimentary parking is underground and so easy, an important benefit in Angra.The large rooms, very clean and new, are of great value and well-appointed, and include a full service/buffet breakfast. A fine well-priced dinner is available in the dining room, with local dishes available, if one wishes the ease of eating at the hotel after a tiring day.But it is the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff that makes this a more special stay. From the greeting of Claudia at the front desk and the personal note in the room, to the restaurant staff, to the room cleaning team, one can see that this is an excellently managed property. One feels that anyone in the hotel will go out of their way to help with any request. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and highly recommend The Shipyard Angra.

  New kid on the block

  A really sympathetic adaptation of an old factory site, with generous rooms (each with a decent kitchenette), good breakfasts and helpful staff. The garage is a bit tricky to get a full-size car around, but there's parking on the street too. Noise from the street can be an issue, unfortunately.

  So Much Room in the Rooms!

  Great location for driving to other island destinations and an easy walk into Angra. Rooms are very modern with apartment style space. Bed is North American king sized. Rooms include induction stove top, fridge and microwave. Grocery store 5 minute walk away, McDonalds in 5 minutes, Subway in 12 minutes. Very clean facility and the breakfast is comprehensive! Staff are very pleasant.

  A nice choice to spend some days in Terceira

  The location of the hotel is excellent. The marina and the city center are within walking distance.The room was clean and very cosy, making you feel at home. The small kitchen comes in handy when you want to enjoy a small snack. On the balcony, you have the chance to enjoy some fresh air and relax. Both ladies at the reception were very helpful, thank you!
