  This hotel has a lot of parking space, and this is basically all it has. Its better days are bygone, jewelry in the lobby won't earn this hotel any stars. The rooms are worn out and gloomy, no drinking water provided (a 4* hotel, really? no way), no bathroom amenities. The elevator was not working, we were taken 4-up with a kitchen elevator that got stuck, so never used it again. Breakfast was served in a beautiful adjacent building, but very basic. The hotel itself is about 1 km from the centre. But while you are there, have a look at the magnificent railway station, maybe that will cheer you up.

  Not worth the money - AVOID

  The only bit that looked good was the lobby, maybe to fool you into thinking the rest is up to standard. The room was okay in size, but the bed was uncomfortable, the furniture was outdated and hanging in some bits. The bathroom was rather small and not very clean. You could see mould around the bath. The lift felt dodgy and the garage could really do with some lighting.Breakfast was poor - not much choice and the bits you had available weren't warm let alone hot.The £100 paid for one night in this so called 4* were rather wasted. If they are charging this amount of money per night, they should be reinvesting it back into renovating the place, but I doubt that is or will be the case.

  The hotel is 15 min walk from the main attraction of the city (boat rides)It has no bellman and no cart to carry your luggage No pool no gymAged place with some smellWould i retuen there? Probably not. I'd look for a place closer to the bridges. The staff however waa helpful and nice.   This is my second visit to Hotel As Americas.The rooms are clean and reasonably sized. The shower is a bit poor with a rubbish shower head and mediocre water pressure.Breakfast is a straight forward buffet.   Not a 4 star Hotel

  We had just arrived from Hotel Villa Batalha, an excellent 4 star, expecting something similar. However, this is your typical 3-2 star hotel that should cater to tour buses. From the dated furniture, curtains, and sad bathroom (the toilet amenities are a joke) I can't see how or where this is a four star hotel. Our air-conditioning took about 30 min to start working at half capacity and by early morning it was down again. The included breakfast was acceptable. Two positive points: good bed and underground parking. Would not recommend to anyone at the price they charge.
