  This hotel cancelled the booking after having a confirmation

  This hotel cancelled my booking 24 hours prior to my arrival.I have contacted them to understand the issue and alternatives - they evoked a problem of overbooking. They could not care less and it does not speak very high about their customer-focused mind.

  luxury 20 years ago, LOW VALUE though nice old lady, no Wifi, no pool - no receipt

  the place looks aristocratic (paintings, halls and accessories) and it in the middle of a cherry plantage (quiet) but is far from "luxury": the rooms need urgent renovation. There are worn carpets in the upper level of the house, the beds make noise when you move and equipment is old (Tube TVs, bathroom, blinds) - a absolut no-go is that there is no Wifi or internet at all... also a pool was missing somehow.The owners are nice but a bit remote due to the missing language skils (French only as 2nd to Portuguese).I found the 65€ (incl. 2 breakfasts) officially 80€ an absolute low value if you see what they offer (practically nothing than the room and breakfast) - also I don't like that there is no official receipt (to save 3,5€ IVA come on guys!!)

  the owners didnt speak a word of English and were a bit deaf, they spoke french but not well, only Portugese, we felt like naughty school children if we were late in or too early for breakfast , but it was very amusing and a beautiful old house !!!
