We stayed at this hotel with our tour group, and I honestly can’t remember a more unpleasant experience. The whole place feels like it hasn’t seen proper maintenance in decades. The halls and rooms reeked of mould, and the bathrooms gave off an odour that made me wonder if the drains were doubling as open sewers. Then came the restaurant — if you can call it that. Half the food was inedible, the other half bland. Only the soup and desserts were passable, but even that couldn’t distract from the disaster that was the service. Our group was forced to wait nearly two hours to get in while other groups were already well into their meals. No one bothered to explain that our food was set out separately, so when we approached the wrong buffet table, a waiter came storming over and began shouting at us like we were misbehaving schoolchildren. And this wasn’t a one-off moment. The same waiter spent the entire evening stomping around the room, tossing out snide remarks and generally behaving like a surly bison. What’s worse, his attitude seemed reserved only for our group — everyone else was treated normally. As if that wasn’t humiliating enough, we were rationed to one bottle of red and one bottle of white wine for a table of ten. When we tried to order more, we were flatly refused. Meanwhile, other groups were freely drinking and already tipsy by the time we finally sat down.Run-down rooms, foul smells, inedible food, and staff who mistake hostility for hospitality — this hotel manages to fail on every level. If you enjoy being insulted, underfed, and treated like a nuisance, this is the place for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favour and stay far, far away.

Not good...

Reception gave my room key to another guest, who walked in while I was inside. This unacceptable breach of privacy and security made me feel unsafe and uncomfortable in the hotel. Such negligence undermines trust and should be addressed immediately to prevent it from happening again.

Not enough staff at dinner
18 Jun 2023
Nice, big hotel with great views over Coimbra. This hotel is situated on a hill a little out of town. Our room was medium size with a K Size bed and a good sized bathroom. We stayed at this hotel as part of our tour with a group. Bathroom had a shower over the bath. No tea/coffee making facilities. Safe in the room. At night we could hear a lot of noise coming from music down below the hotel and other noisy guests in the passage ways. We had dinner at the hotel but found there were not enough staff to cater for the group ordering drinks. We were also unable to go to the bar to get a drink as it was not staffed.

Not Worth it!

It’s a joke when someone can’t sit on the toilet properly because the counter tops were cut to large and do they hang over your legs like your sitting in a hi-chair. It shows the hotels disrespect for the comfort of their guest When they could’ve taken care of it when it was first put it in. Whatever happened to comfort we’ll it’s not here the beds are rock hard ant the pillow cases feel like disposable ones. I won’t even get started about the customer service. Average place with an exquisite view over Coimbra
29 Oct 2020
The location, on the top of a hill on the other side of the river overlooking Coimbra, is quite special, and the hotel is well known because of that. But everything else about the hotel is mere average. Except the price, which is lower than average, so it is quite inviting because of its good price-quality ratio.
