  My best option in Guarda

  As participants in a workshop in Fatima, we were also participating in a tour of the region and we are again hosted by the Lusitania Hotel, as in the past, we had a very nice room, beds are very comfortable and bath as well. Breakfast and dinners were also excellent. Even if the hotel is a bit far from the center of town, it is an excellent option to stay in Guarda and to be the base to tour the region, and the Sierra of the Estrela.   Excellent Hotel option in Guarda

  after some years of absence, I returned to stay at the Lusitania Hotel in Guarda, a beautiful hotel, with very nice rooms, good dinners and nicer breakfasts, the room is very comfortable and big enough, good shower and nice amenities.Also the location is very good with excellent parking and at the entrance to Guarda.Liked it and will return.   A well run hotel, with great staff, nice rooms and very good food.

  We had a stop at this hotel on our drive through and were very pleased we did! Reception staff were pleasant and efficient, our room was spacious and spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. We spent a couple of hours at the pool reading our books and swimming, very nice. In the evening we had dinner in the bar area and our fabulous barman, Americo, took care of us wonderfully.   Not having the notion of what hospitality really means

  The rooms are old fashioned and the reception refuses to give you an invoice for the stay. In order to have the invoice you would have to get in touch with the booking agency. So someone makes a reservation, pays and the hotel is not capable of doing something so basic as giving you an invoice. Instead they tell you to do their work and go to the internet and loose the time we don’t have searching for the best way to have an invoice CRP Guarda, Proprietário at Hotel Lusitania, responded to this review Dear guest, In fact, you don't want to understand how it works between an hotel and a tour operator, but we explain once more:When you book from an agency and it was the case (World 2 meet), the invoice should be given to you from him.We only give an invoice regarding supplementary expenses in the hotel during your stay.We have explained it to you at the front but when someone doesn't want to understand, it' s really hard!Best regards.

  Good overnight stop

  Our third time stopping here overnight, this time on way from Algarve to ferry. Bit more paperwork required, as evidence of Covid double jabs and recent negative antigen test needed. Car parking spaces in basement very small but managed to park in electric charging bay. Room great and lots of fresh air when window to balcony opened. Fridge pretty useless. Better keeping milk on cold balcony. Dinner very good but only one waiter with adequate English. Had local delicacy of baby goat - excellent but a lot of bone. TV stations with Olympics on were great, but no English language news channels. Bathroom fabulous.
