The hotel located in the center of Castelo BrancoIt has its own parking so if you coming by car, you don’t have to search for one The rooms are very big and you have enough space. I’ve got a room with a balcony. The bathroom it’s big enough and very clean The breakfast is very rich and tasty The stuff are very kind and helpful António Carvalho, Diretor-Geral at Hotel Rainha D. Amelia, Arts & Leisure, responded to this review Dear Sirs, Thank you for coming to our hotel and for highlighting the free access to our garage (subject to availability), as well as the comfort, space and cleanliness of our facilities. Overall disappointing

    rating06 Oct 2023

On a positive view, the on-site parking was convenient, and the location was ok. The staff was extremely helpful and overall welcoming. However, this can not make up for the overall quality of the rooms. The rooms, as we we told, are "historic." This is not accurate they are simply old. The furniture and bedding are not pleasing. The bathroom is poorly designed. The lobby, as well as the glass front doors, look more appropriate on o roadside motel.Certainly not a four star hotel. António Carvalho, Diretor-Geral at Hotel Rainha D. Amelia, Arts & Leisure, responded to this review Dear Steven,Thank you for your comment concerning the excelent location our unit and the professionalism of our team. We're sorry to know your overall experience. Our hotel has a policy of continuous investment, both in terms of facilities and equipment, renovating and redecorating the rooms and public spaces in order to provide the best stay for our guests. We are indeed a hotel with classic features, but still with modern lines, always attentive to the new trends and demands of the new times, receiving the classification we bear as we deserve and within the standards set by the National Tourism Authority.Best regards - Accommodation and Public Relations Department

    average room, average stay

So, this was to be the "spoil myself" moment of my trip. The hotel had underground parking, 3 restaurant choices, classy decor. I wanted this to be super special. Unfortunately the pubic hair in the shower marred the experience. I waited for it to find its way to the plug hole....I tried to ferry it on its way by channelling the water to help it....after 15 mins I didn't care any more and stood in any way. I can't say anything else as I was so disappointed that I just wanted to leave António Carvalho, Diretor-Geral at Hotel Rainha D. Amelia, Arts & Leisure, responded to this review Dear GuestThank you for your presence in our hotel. We apologize for the inconvenience. Looking forward to hear from you in the future.Best Regards,AntCarvalho - Assistente de Direcção

    Disappointed

    rating25 Aug 2020

Stayed here for 3 nights August 2020 to celebrate our wedding anniversary in the city. We stayed here in June 2019 for the festival as well.Similar issues both stays i.e. room not cleaned daily if you stay more than 1 night.Had to ask for the room to be cleaned on the second day. Third day not cleaned when we arrived back at around 4pm. No loo roll or clean towels, bins not emptied. We had a table booked for dinner at a local restaurant so we wanted to get ready to go back out. Had to attend reception twice to get clean towels and loo roll and then rush to get ready because of the delays.Breakfast is included in the price of your stay but they use another room now away from the restaurant. The queuing system is in a small corridor. Social distancing isn't possible in the corridor effectively especially as couples and families leave the room and walk head on through the queues inside the corridor. Not enough staff in attendance to support breakfast service. One waiter expected to serve guests from a multi option buffet whilst also toasting bread and delivering the toast to guests tables. In our case the toast got burnt. He threw it away rather than bring it to us which was understandable, but he was so busy he forgot to put us anymore in the machine. We eventually left the breakfast room having only eaten a plate of lukewarm scrambled egg. No bacon was available at this sitting. This was the only time we attended for breakfast because of our experience. Local cafes are cheap to eat out for breakfast.Overall a disappointing experience.
