  Good standard traveller's hotel

  Hotel room had a balcony facing the telco tower. Room space was tight. Everything in the room functioned well. Too busy around the buffet at dinner time so we ordered off the menu. Buffet breakfast was also crowded. Food was OK Easy on site car parking.

  Based on the description I saw of the hotel, I was expecting something almost as basic as a Motel 6. Was that a wrong expectation! This is a beautiful hotel high up on a hill with a great view of the surrounding countryside. The room was spacious and clean and a good breakfast was offered. The staff was quite helpful. Definitely a 5 star experience.

  We stayed only 1 night at the Melia Castel Branco. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and had a comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a huge variety of options. The hotel is situated on a top of a hill and not the greatest location if you want to have dinner in town. However we had dinner at their restaurant and it was excellent.

  Nice city view thanks to room upgrade

  I chose the hotel because of the location and the fact it has electric car chargers on the parking. To my pleasant surprise I was upgraded to a city view room. There was only one AC charger on the parking but luckily there was not much charging going on so I could use it.The room was quite normal with a nice view over the city had it not been as misty as it was that day.The indoor pool is very large and comfortable. Unfortunately they require you to wear a swimming cap which can be bought at the reception for 3 Euros.
