    “Excellent location but in need of renovation”

    If you are travelling along the N327 on the western side of the Ria Aveiro lagoon it is a convent place to stay. The hotel is about five miles south of Torreira. The local car ferry from Sao Jacinto to Aveiro is fast and runs reasonably frequently. The hotel has a rural setting and is not part of a village. Its’ moderate grounds have plenty of convenient car parking space and an outdoor swimming pool. The local beaches on the Atlantic are spectacular. But you will need a car, or take a very long walk, to get to them.The hotel has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The single-story hotel is of a moderate size with about 20 bedrooms. The design and decor are very, very 1960s. The bar and lounge have ample space, all with views over the lagoon.The bedroom was a reasonable size and functionally furnished with a balcony overlooking the lagoon and the mountains beyond. The reception team took a keen interest in us and were helpful and polite. The restaurant was OK but nothing to write home about. The dinner service was noticeably slow.In summary, while the location and views are top notch the hotel is not luxurious and better described as functional. Compared to other Pousadas we have stayed in the hotel is a bit jaded and in urgent need of modernisation and a major renovation.     Portuguese Pousada Not Far from the City

    The staff was very friendly and seemed happy to have us as guests. The hotel is a well preserved 1960s style design, neat and clean. Room was comfortable and clean. Their restaurant served us a delicious dinner and breakfast. It is not close to other services and available really only by bike or car. We had a beautiful sunrise from your room and felt very welcomed by Jose at the front desk. We would recommend this Pousada.     Location on the Lagoon is stunning Reception staff super helpful , cases carried to room Then a room with a view and what a view. Bed comfortable, WiFi all good Lots of places to sit and just have a drink and relax Our evening meal was tasty , fresh & again attentive service.     Terrible experience – Reservation denied without reasonI had a confirmed Booking.com reservation, but upon arrival the receptionist told me it hadn’t come through. She refused to check the Booking extranet or call Booking to confirm. I saw her answering Booking’s calls and hanging up without speaking.I was left waiting over 3 hours at night, without any help, and eventually had to leave and return to Spain to find another hotel.Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. If you book here, be prepared for your reservation to be ignored.
