  Everything it promised

  20 Jul 2025

We were notified well in advance (luckily) that the villa was accessible via cobblestones & to bring as little baggage as possible. We bought backpacks but still had difficulty with a clumsy fall by myself due to the heavy crowds of the medieval festival. Once we arrived at the villa we were relaxed. We had to call for a receptionist as I was unwell. Check in was easy & the room was really clean & very cute. Beautiful linens, lovely views through the windows & nice to be a few lanes away from the chaos of the main drag. There was no breakfast available which was disappointing & we were unable to locate any within the walls so we left & obtained it at our next stop Porto. The Villa offered everything it promised & we had a great sleep on very comfortable beds. pedro GASPAR, Guest Services / Front Office at Pousada Vila Obidos, responded to this review Dear Mrs. Carmel C, On behalf of our entire team at Pousada Vila Óbidos, we would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with your positive feedback. Excellent, Superb!

  26 Mar 2025

Great location inside the walls of the town. The hotel was impeccable. The room was outstanding. The bed was wonderful. The sheets and room smelled delightful. I thought I died and went to heaven. I don’t know what detergent or air freshener the hotel uses, but wow! I didn’t want to leave. The lady and gentleman who helped me check in were fantastic. They were warm, helpful and welcoming. The gentleman came and found me in the village as I initially had trouble locating the hotel. Exceptional experience. pedro GASPAR, Guest Services / Front Office at Pousada Vila Obidos, responded to this review Dear Mr.Timothy F C On behalf of our entire team at Pousada Vila Óbidos, we would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with your positive feedback. Lovely classic hotel inside the wall

  05 May 2024

Nice hotel, clean and big rooms, located right at the heart of Óbidos inside the wall. Check in was done at the castle with a very friendly staff five minutes walk from this place. Classic rooms. Breakfast was simple but very nice. Highly recommended. pedro GASPAR, Guest Services / Front Office at Pousada Vila Obidos, responded to this review Dear Mr. Boyboytraveller, On behalf of our entire team at Pousada Vila Óbidos, we would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with your positive feedback. Nice but not for people allergic to cats.

  09 Dec 2023

There are positives and negatives to staying at the Pousada Vila Obidos. To their credit, this is a very nice micro-hotel that is situated in an unusual place - Obidos. It is virtually in the shadow of a castle and the old world flair of this town makes it very special. The hotel itself is pretty and nicely appointed. Breakfast is the highlight of this hotel. Now for the not so good... The hotel is not accessible by car so you need to be aware that you will have to carry all your baggage up a pretty steep cobblestone path and several steps to the front door. We did not know this until it was nearly too late to make other arrangements / cancel. We did receive an email during our travels with a "warning" but it seemed too late. We arrived during a rain storm, so the cobblestones were quite wet and slippery. The room was not completely clean with a used bottle left behind. Also, there is a cat (or cats) on the property that followed us everywhere. My husband is extremely allergic. Had we known there was a CAT on the property, at the breakfast area, and allowed to jump on the chairs and tables in the dining room we would never have booked here. Sorry, we were disappointed and itchy. pedro GASPAR, Guest Services / Front Office at Pousada Vila Obidos, responded to this review Dear Mrs. Louise Masin Sattler, We would like to thank you for giving us your honest opinion on your stay. Inside the walls

  19 Nov 2023

Great location inside the walls of the castle. Very close to everything within Obidos. Clean room that was a decent size with large bathroom. Nice breakfast. Parking is outside of town, but free parking is pretty close by. pedro GASPAR, Guest Services / Front Office at Pousada Vila Obidos, responded to this review Dear Mr. WanderLSP, On behalf of our entire team at Pousada Vila Óbidos, we would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with your positive feedback.
