Lovely hotel with great friendly staff, amenities and location plus golf

Really enjoyed my golf holiday as a solo traveller for this trip. Very clean and modern with super staff. The spa, gym and facilities were excellent and very relaxing during my stay. The. Concierge staff were super helpful for looking after luggage, advising on travelling the area by many available taxis, hire car or hire some bikes, and then places to visit. I visited Obidos and Peniche via Uber. All staff I found were very friendly and helped when I had to change rooms as I arrived a day early but both rooms were superb. The half board food and drink deal was excellent and breakfast certainly sets you up for the day or golf. An amazing holiday.

A quiet and wonderful night’s stay!

This hotel was clean, quiet and had wonderful service. The included breakfast was one of the best I’ve had, the beds were comfortable and the view was amazing. If you are looking for a quiet and clean place to lay your head and to get away from everyone, this is your place!

Great hotel, but don't book it for immediate beach access!

We (family of four) stayed here for three nights with the intention to play golf on at least one of the many beautiful golf courses both onsite and nearby. We also wanted a hotel with a beach to provide our children with some playtime when we were away from the golf course.The hotel is brilliant, the rooms, staff (especially the staff! who were so caring with our children), food, leisure facilities, indoor and outdoor (but outdoor too cold to use - as this is April on the Atlantic coast!) pools were all lovely. The golf course was also wonderful, well maintained and v scenic, it did not disappoint.However, my one disappointment was that the beach isn't actually very accessible from the hotel, something that I feel should be pointed out clearly pre-booking to avoid disappointment hence reason for my review now. The cliffs are unstable and the walkway that they provide stops just short of the beach! there is a rope hanging there for the adventurous to use if they please, and by the look of the high tide mark it seems that it isn't really a beach afterall. The lead pic is an old photo. If you want the beach they will provide a shuttle bus to take you five mins down the road to the other side of the resort where you can access it. Nice that they do that but better if they could update the pics / advice on the hotel features. A real shame as that was a leading reason to book this hotel, had we known we probably would have chosen to stay elsewhere. A member of staff said it had been like this for three years.......So, to summarise, this probably isn't the hotel for you if you want immediate access to the beach.

Dear @Tienshan1,Thank you very much for your detailed feedback, and also for your kind words regarding our team, facilities and golf experience, it truly means a lot to us.We are, however, very sorry to read that the beach access did not meet your expectations and understand how important this aspect was for your stay.Allow me to clarify that the resort does indeed provide access to the beach within the Praia D’El Rey resort, however, the section directly in front of the hotel is not accessible. This is due to safety reasons related to cliff stability, following guidance from the relevant local authorities. The former access, which was also seasonal and dependent on tide conditions, had to be discontinued, and the remaining structure is no longer in use.We are aware that, at times, informal paths or elements (such as ropes) may appear in that area, but these are not placed nor maintained by the hotel and are regularly removed. For safety reasons, signage is in place, although we will certainly reinforce our checks to ensure this is always clearly visible.As an alternative, we provide a complimentary shuttle service to the main and safe beach access point within the resort, just a short drive away, where guests can comfortably enjoy the beach. During the summer- beach season, this area also offers additional support facilities, including sunbeds and nearby amenities (Maré restaurant and PDR Mini Market).That said, we truly appreciate your comments regarding communication, and we will take them into careful consideration to ensure expectations are set as clearly as possible prior to arrival.We sincerely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with an even more seamless experience.Kind regards,Inês GilAssistant Director

We had a wonderful stay at Praia D’el Rey Marriott Golf & Beach Resort this week. Even with the rainy weather, our vacation turned out to be truly relaxing and memorable. The hotel itself is beautiful, with an elegant “old-money” style interior, stunning ocean views, and peaceful natural surroundings that create a feeling of calm and privacy.The rooms are very comfortable, especially the beds — we slept perfectly every night. The restaurants offer great food and a lovely atmosphere, and the spa area is fantastic: a warm indoor pool, a great sauna, and a jacuzzi that made our stay even more enjoyable.But the most important thing is the people. Everywhere in the hotel we met incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional staff who made us feel genuinely cared for. Their warmth and hospitality made this stay special.Even in bad weather, this is a perfect place to rest, recharge, and enjoy nature, comfort, and tranquility. We would love to come back.
