Nice place for one day trip

One hour far from Porto, Aveiro is a beautiful city, small one, perfect for a one day trip. If you are going to Portugal you must go to Aveiro to enjoy the city, you can go by train and just walk from the city.

Great location but very noisy

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel is basic but that's fine for us. Breakfast next door is great. Location is perfect. The one thing we did not like is the noise. The hotel has thin walls and all wooden floors. First night we had a room next to the staircase. We could hear the last people get in and the first ones get up. We changed rooms but still there was a lot of noise from neighbours next to us and above us. If you stay here make sure you take earplugs!

Smack in the middle of the small town of Aveiro. It is not a high standard hotel but it did it's job. The room was pretty small but clean and we were happy to be on the first floor so we had a balcony overlooking the main square. The bathroom is a good size but no shelves to put your things on. The washing cabinet is very small so that's not an option. The shower had al these fancy options but the control panel was either unreadable or broken. And again no shelves to put your shampoo on. It has a smoky glass sliding door, so a bit see through. We never found the shared lounge area, neither the bikes but we did see the hot tub. Staff was helpful but their English is really not good so we didn't bother to ask. Wifi is pretty good, also on the rooms. If we would ever go to Aveiro again, we would stay here again.

Amazing hotel and great value for money

This was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The room was very pretty with a white and pale blue color scheme and a spacious, very modern bathroom and powerful shower. There were various free toiletries on arrival and if you used them up during your stay the cleaner noticed and left new bottles. The staff were lovely and reception was very nice, with quirky blackboard walls wooden decor. Great location too, just beside the river. If I came back to Aveiro, which I imagine I will, I would definitely stay here again. It was a luxury hotel but amazing value for money.

Stayed at Aveiro City Lodge in winter Jan 2016. The apartment was very well located in the heart of Aveiro. Bathroom was slightly updated and tiny but functional.The room was bright and clean with a window facing a small courtyard which we couldn't access, nonetheless still some fresh air. Access to TV with heaps of channels. Check-in staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. We were fortunate enough to find free parking after 6pm in front of the lodge. Otherwise, cheap enough parking in the shopping centre car park across the river. (2 mins walk away)Would stay here again.
