This beach hotel and spa is idyllically located in Cascais, overlooking the sea. The centre of Cascais is a 10-minute walk from the hotel and guests can sample the restaurants, bars and pubs in the area. Lisbon is 30 km away and Portela Airport is 37 km from the hotel.

The hotel has 9 junior suites, 10 suites, 3 studios, 84 single rooms and 18 double rooms, which are located on 5 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Services such as a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Air conditioning and adjustable central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can relax and enjoy the sea views from the balcony or private terrace of some rooms. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a mini fridge included among the standard features. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, a stereo system, a DVD player and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Guests can take advantage of the nightly turndown service. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a bidet. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror, bathrobes and a telephone are available for daily use. Cosmetic products and a selection of towels provide additional comfort in the bathrooms. With catamaraning or, for a fee, windsurfing, paddle boating and sailing available, fans of water sports have plenty of options to choose from. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym, callisthenics and aerobics. There is a wellness area with a spa, a hammam, a beauty salon, hydrotherapy treatments, thalassotherapy treatments and a solarium and, for an additional fee, a sauna, a steam bath and massage treatments. Children are well looked after in the kids' club.

    If you plan to spend any time in Cascais, you must stay at the Grande Real Villa Italia Hotel & Spa. You will not regret being at the hotel. The food was excellent (great breakfast), but the staff made our visit memorably. Well worth the extra money.

    We had a wonderful stay at Grande Real Villa Itália Hotel & Spa in Cascais. The hotel is beautifully located by the sea and within walking distance of the town centre. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and had a lovely view of the pool.The staff were excellent throughout our stay: friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the valet parking was very convenient.Breakfast was a highlight, with an excellent variety of Portuguese and international options, enjoyed in a beautiful setting by the pool.We also had dinner at La Terraza, which was one of the best experiences of our stay. The food was excellent, the service attentive and the atmosphere was perfect for watching the sunset over Cascais.The spa was another highlight, especially the thalassotherapy circuit. It was a great way to unwind at the end of the day, and the spa itself is beautifully designed.A fantastic hotel with a great location, excellent service and a strong sense of history. We would happily return.

    Our stay at Grande Real Villa Itália was truly outstanding from beginning to end. We spent nine nights in Cascais, and the hotel became such a special part of our trip that we ended up having dinner there three different evenings — the food was simply that good.What really sets this hotel apart, though, is the staff. The service is impeccable: warm, attentive and incredibly thoughtful, yet never overbearing. It's the little touches that make such a difference — someone making sure you have water when you need it, or bringing everyone at the pool a refreshing little "slushy" late in the morning on a hot day. Everything feels effortless and genuinely hospitable.Our room was spectacular, with an incredible view of the Atlantic and some of the most beautiful sunsets we've ever seen. Waking up to the ocean every morning and watching the sun go down from our room in the evening was unforgettable.There are beautiful hotels, and then there are places that simply feel special.
