We attended a conference in Estoril and this was one of the three hotels proposed by our Association. We assumed with 4 stars it would be decent but in summary aside from the truly bizarre decor (which I guess is to individual taste) the hotel has a very serious cockroach infestation problem and rooms are very dirty. Manager and staff completely indifferent and uninterested. Hair in bathrooms, curtains falling off rail, dirty floors, dirty windows, cracked tiles, loose wall plugs (dangerous for children in particular). Many of the delegates all shared the same feedback and numerous colleagues also found cockroaches in their rooms. Makes me wonder if you find cockroaches in public areas and rooms what must the kitchen be like! Head instead for something like the Evolution Cascas Estoril hotel, round the corner, where I spent the last night in Estoril. In contrast, super clean, modern hotel with very welcoming staff and no cockroaches! See my separate review. The Inglaterra is an apology for a hotel and they should be ashamed of offering this as a suitable place to stay. Sadly we did not look at the reviews before booking since many before us reached the same conclusion, posting similar photos of the cockroaches, so hope this review helps other future travelers.

Hotel Inglaterra - Estoril. Overall we had a good stay

Firstly we would like to praise the excellent service we received Constanca on reception - she was very informative and always helpful. After being placed for one night in a duplex in the basement which was not suitable we were moved next day to suite 206 which was very nice. We did experience some issues with the locking of the front door and cleaning but these were largely overcome after reporting to reception. We stayed on half board but as the dinner options are restricted, and with many good restaurants in the area, the bed and breakfast option would have been better for us.

A very lovely hotel! Stayed in the main building. And I thought it had a lot of charm. Ate dinner at the hotel, and the food was plentyful and very very good. Every one working there was very nice and friendly. I highly recommend staying here.

Charming hotel

Charming hotel in Estoril with a great staff. The breakfast included all that you need. Close to the train station and casino. A few restaurants nearby. The fitness room was very small, with only a treadmill, some dumbells, and a fitness machine. Only suited for one person at a time.

Nice location, good views from hotel. Nice walk along seaside to Cascais. Breakfast buffet was very good, fresh fruits, eggs any style, fresh rolls and pancakes. Our room was in the old part of the hotel which meant you could hear room above and the corridor however that didn’t really bother us.
