Nice hotel i Portugal. Not far from Lissabon, and just 500 meters walk to the beach.Very friendly and service minded staff.Several restaurants located nearby, not pricy, and with good food.

Stayed here for 11 nights and really enjoyed it. It is a bit old fashioned but that is it's charm. It was clean and comfortable. Most of the staff were friendly, the dining room staff weren't all that friendly. The food at breakfast was the usual buffet, the hot food wasn't. It took a bit of time for things to be replenished and tables reset. We didn't have an evening meal here so cannot comment on that but there didn't seem to be much of a choice. The location was good, 10 minute walk to the beach and 15 minute walk to the train station where you can get the train along to Estoril and Cascais or into Lisbon, they are very efficient. There are a few very good restaurants nearby. There is a small shopping centre on the ground floor on one side of the hotel. Various shops, some places to eat and a great supermarket. The pool area was clean and plenty of sun loungers and brollys. We were there early season so it was quiet and the pool bar didn't open until mid May. If we were in the area again we would stay here.

Disappointing stay — A "4-star" in name only

I recently stayed at the Riviera Hotel for two nights and was incredibly underwhelmed. While the hotel is technically clean, it is extremely dated and lacks the basic comforts you would expect from a 4-star establishment.The Room & Comfort:The furniture and carpets feel dingy and "tired." Most importantly, the beds were very uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a restful night's sleep. The room was lacking basic amenities—there weren't even tissues provided. I also encountered a major issue with the electrical outlets: none of them worked correctly. I actually had to unplug a lamp in an already dimly lit room just to charge my phone.Dining:The food was another major low point. The buffet was severely lacking; for a hotel in Portugal, where fresh produce is abundant, it was shocking to see they relied almost entirely on canned and frozen foods in the fruit and breakfast sections.Service:The staff were noticeably unfriendly. Instead of feeling welcomed, I felt like they were doing me a favor just by checking me in or answering a question. There is a total lack of genuine hospitality here.The "4-Star" Rating:I can only assume the hotel maintains its 4-star status due to the presence of the pool and the adjacent shopping area, because the rooms, food, and service certainly don't earn it. Having a pool doesn't make up for a lack of basic room functionality and poor quality food.

Friendly welcome at reception.Asked for a quiet room on a high floor at the end of a corridor and got it.Stayed for 5 nights.Towels and bedding changed more than once.Great lift.Plenty of choice for breakfast.Plenty of empty tables which were regularly cleared.The room was a little tired and old fashioned.First time ever I had no problem with the safe.Used the pool once..... 10 euros :(

Joined my husband for a work trip. Was pleasantly surprised . Room was very clean and very well looked after by our lovely cleaner . Breakfasts were great. Pool area was immaculate just a shame bar was shut and they were packing up for end of season, so tables etc taken away. Staff v friendly apart from the lady on breakfast check in.
