  Noise coming from other rooms that you cannot sleep at all!

  I stayed at this hotel for four nights, and it was a terrible experience. On three of those nights, I was woken up by noise coming from other rooms, as they were in intimate relations!! What kind of a hotel is this?!!When I was to call the reception, no one ever answered. Every time there was a problem, I had to go downstairs in my pjs to find someone. The location is good, but what is the point of a good location when you are repeatedly woken up in the middle of the night, frustrated and unable to reach anyone for help? I would never stay here again and would not recommend it to you. Ever!!

  OK, but rooms small

  Reception area nice and receptionist (Regilaine) very friendly and helpful. Bar area and reception area nice and clean.2 tiny lifts (& we were on floor 8), could barely fit us two in with luggage, but we luckily didn't have any issues with getting the lift when we needed it.Room was OK, clean, and bedding and towels changed daily, but bedroom area, and double bed fairly small, whilst bathroom was disproportionately big, with a huge corner bath with whirlpool jets. The shower was over the bath, but the holder was quite high up, which I couldn't easily reach, , so I had to shower whilst holding the shower head, which was quite a feat, as there was no shower curtain or screen, so you run the risk of soaking the bathroom floor whilst using the shower. The bathroom is also enclosed within opaque glass walls with a sliding door, our door didn't quite close properly, so make sure you are on good personal terms with whoever you are sharing with where privacy isn't a high priority!! Room was adequate for our stay as we were out exploring most of the time, and location was fine, we walked into main shopping area in about 25 mins, and used Ubers which are really reasonable and needed as Lisbon is very hilly!Breakfast was not great, again adequate, but below average of what we have had in other European hotels, (and we are not picky eaters or food snobs by any stretch).Overall, was fine for our 3 day break, but our overall impression was that website pics make it look more impressive than it actually is in reality, it felt a little bit 'tired' overall. If we were visiting again, we would probably stay somewhere else.Final tip - DON'T get a taxi to/from the airport - taxi cost £35 into Lisbon, while Uber back to airport was £7!!!

  Fabulous hotel

  We had a fabulous stay at America Diamonds. Ideal location for us. A metro station is literally on the door step and bus stops into town just a few feet away. Our room was great. It had tea and coffee making facilities, including a kettle. The bathroom was the best part, we had an unexpected jacuzzi bath which was really appreciated after many long days walking around Lisbon. The bathroom included shower and hand wash. There were plenty of lovely places to eat locally in the evening. Staff were helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation if we return to Lisbon

  One Star – Only Saved by the Breakfast

  We stayed at the American Diamond Hotel from 1st February to 3rd February, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had.The only reason this place gets one star instead of zero is because the breakfast was actually good. Unfortunately, everything else was appalling.On our stay, we discovered ants all over our room, including crawling over our towels. This is completely unhygienic and disgusting. We immediately contacted reception to report it, and the response was beyond unacceptable. The man working reception was extremely unhelpful, offered no solution, didn’t even offer fresh towels, and actually hung up the phone abruptly mid-call.I then went downstairs to speak to him in person, hoping for some basic professionalism. Instead, he was incredibly rude, dismissive, and implied that the situation was somehow our fault, despite us reporting the ants as soon as they appeared. To make matters worse, he refused to take the towels that were covered in ants, implying they should remain in our room. I was genuinely shocked by this behaviour.I cannot believe someone with such a poor attitude and complete lack of customer service skills is working in a customer-facing role. The way we were treated was unacceptable, and the man working the evening of the 2nd of February should seriously reconsider his position if this is how guests are spoken to.Between the ants, the lack of hygiene, and the hostile, rude reception staff, I would strongly advise others to avoid staying here. Breakfast alone does not make up for such an awful and uncomfortable experience.

  Clean and pleasant hotel, but the room was let down by the view

  American Diamonds Hotel is clean, well-maintained and welcoming. The staff is friendly and the common areas are nicely kept. The only downside is that the hotel is a bit far from the city centre, so you need to use public transport to get around.The room booked through Booking unfortunately came with a drawback: the view was directly over the air-conditioning units, which made the outlook quite disappointing.
