  Once again pictures can and do deceive

  Disliked · The address given, 180 rua da Boavista, is not true. it is actually an alleyway up some stairs and at the back of buildings.The photo to advertise the placehas nothing to do with the b&b and is only a building at the bottom of the alley which goes up to the back where the b&b is located. More than half the photos are of the area and some photos only of inside. 3 outside the norms steps once inside. nowhere is it indicated to mind your step when going into the room (nr 4) which lies some 10cm deeper. luckily I held onto the door handle thereby avoiding a fall but I still twisted my back.The mattresses were lacking mattress protectors. Very soft feather pillows. The firmer pillows which serve as decoration didn't look clean but I may be mistaken. There was a tv which didn't work and wasn't checked before arrival. And it wasn't going to be fixed until after my departure. Liked · good location in a lively up and coming neighbourhood. good breakfast in a nice and authentic room.There is only 1 staff present at breakfast, otherwise no-one to be seen but ready response to questions via WhatsAppThe private external bathroom (room 4) across the corridor looks strange with wooden platforms built to - I imagine - hide the pipes. The shower has good pressure and lots of hot water. The soap container in the shower hadn't been checked and was empty.

  Staying in a real hotel next time

  Good: breakfast and bedsBad: it's an old building so you will hear everyone walk and open/close doors and talk in their rooms. Almost everyone during my stay walked very heavy. A child ran upstairs a few times. The private bathroom is down the hall, not connected to the room. Also, if you travel with only credit cards like most Americans, I will be the one to tell you to expect to give them cash at the end of the trip for the "tourist tax." My last morning in Lisbon was spent running around to different atms and a Western Union at the suggestion of the owner which was either closed or moved. I ended up going to a convenience store and explained to him why I came to him for cash. He seemed confused and asked me why the hotel wouldn't accept my card. I came back with the money, and the owner told me both 1) it's common sense to carry cash in Europe and 2) several Americans have had the exact same problem as me. I have been to most of Europe, and this has never been an issue. Then she told me she would NEVER bring her cards to America and would carry cash. However, in America, it is common sense that about half the stores do not accept cash. I had been kind and respectful my entire stay here but was disappointed to be made to look like an idiot.

  Did not meet expectations!

  Booked this place as wanted somewhere central and with parking. The place advertised parking however when i asked about it they said its only street parking. The lady caterina gave me information om where to park which was helpful however still had to go around with the car at 11pm at night trying to find a place. The room was very clean however unfortunately it was very noisy as just on a busy road. There was also no AC in the room so it became very hot. The mattress was very old and could feel the springs in my back which made an uncomfortable nights sleep. The curtains also did not cover the entire window letting light in very early.Breakfast was nice and included fresh juice and very fresh bread

  Very responsive, friendly and helpful- great location.Spacious room. Private bathroom located outside. Bring your own Toiletries as not much is provided.Note that there is an added tourist tax which is not mentioned.Thank you Caterina for your assistance.

  Beautiful Rooms, Good Location

  Incredible rooms that are beautifully furnished, making you feel like the main characters in a 1920s romance.All this for a very good price and conveniently located.Hassle-free self check-in, great kitchen, very basic breakfast.Don't let the rundown exterior scare you off, this is an amazing place to stay in Lisbon, especially for couples.
