  Lovely small hotel

  Small hotel with renovated rooms. I found our room to be quite large and clean. Everything worked well. Bed was comfortable.Breakfast was splendid, so tasty! Staff was kind and helpful. The location is a bit far away to my taste as during our trip the tram did not come nearby. It will take some time to walk to the center depending how fast you walk. There is a lot of restaurants nearby and small grocery stores though.Our room was great but as the room was towards the street it was quite noisy in the weekend nights which affected sleep quality.   We had an apartment...... Up eight flights of narrow stairs. Apartment was comfortable but the kitchen was not brilliantly equipped and the shower was small. Walls were thin so disturbed a bit at night by noises from adjacent flat Breakfast was really excellent - plentiful, with a lovely variety of fresh home cooked fare that changed from day to day.   Very easy booking last minute directly on the site of the hotel.Smooth checking, great setting in a serene backyard. Quiet room with heating (important at this time of year) , comfortable bed and excellent standards.   Wonderful Experience in Lisbon

  My wife and I reserved the Casa Do Patio property based on google and other reviews and we were NOT disappointed!We rented the one bedroom apartment (similar to an Air BNB style). It was very spacious and clean. The property is away from the tourist areas far enough that it's quiet (with a few locals talking into the night) but hey that the culture and we like it. Our view from our window was amazing with a perfect view of the city and the sound of church bells ringing the hour in. The property itself is up a steep hill and not accessible by Uber. We used their driver who was able to get close to the property so we wouldn't have to lug our luggage up the hill. Pretty much all of Lisbon is very hilly so bring good shoes and don't wear heals.The main property and courtyard our pretty, spacious and relaxing. The buildings are older but the antique charm really makes the trip! We went there each morning for our breakfast. They easily buzz you in. Flowers and trees throughout the courtyard.The breakfast is amazing. We really enjoyed it. They have the usual breakfast items plus a great assortment of Portuguese pastries and my favorite Coconut Cake. They can also make eggs to order as well I highly recommend it!The biggest plus of Casa do Patio was the staff! A big should out to Denise the front office receptionist/consierge who was super friendly and helpful as was all the staff. I really made our stay wonderful!Should we return to Lisbon will we very likely book this property again and if you want a hotel that close enough to walk to the tourist areas but far enough that its not noisy and overwhelming...pick Casa Do Patio!   Be warned!! Not as it appears and deceptive business practices

  I was booked for an apartment through my travel company Journee. I was not informed of some very important information. For one, the apartment was not accessible by Uber. I was dropped off as close as they could, still having to carry my luggage up steep cobblestone streets. Once I arrived, the apartment was on the 4th floor walk up. Again, not easy with luggage. Unfortunately, they were booked so another room was not available. After spending my first night there, I knew other accommodations were necessary. The street noise, which was an alleyway , made it impossible to get rest. The bed was also hard as a rock and I woke with a serious backache. They offered one with an elevator but it was too far out of town. Upon agreement with the host Natalia, the rest of the reservation would be refunded. I had no other option but to book a hotel. When I finally connected with the travel company, they informed me that since I was given a choice of another property, they would not refund the remaining 5 nights. This was agreed upon before I checked out! I ordered an Uber to take me to the new hotel but because of their limitations, I had to walk up cobblestone streets, 4 blocks to meet the driver. I've learned a very expensive lesson both with the travel company and Casa do Patio. Not only was the apartment deceptive but very important information was not disclosed.
