  Awesome hostel! Great Staff and very clean!

  I spend 9 days in the CIty Hostel Lisbon and it was a great time. The hostel is clean, the bathrooms are big, the breakfast is delicious. But the best is the staff. The volunteers are very friendly and help you if there are any questions and the owner Viktoriya and Ruben are just amazing. They showed us the City (which is not far away from the hostel) and they explained a lot. They also took us to a surfing place and we spend the nights togehter in the city center during the St. Antonius Festival. Everything was just perfect and we will definitly come back.

  You feel like a guest, not a client.

  I have too many things to say about this hostel but simply i would say that you definitely feel at home in this here!! Ruben and Victoria makes you feel that you came to visit them as a guest rather than a client! I have arrived very late and Ruben was waiting for me at door, then on my first day they bring us to city center and show around everywhere. During the night, we went to listen Fado together and they show around all the local places. And the 3rd they we went to go to surfing innthe ocean all together!! They are extremely friendly! I definitely recommend you to stay here.

  You can see the replies that the staff leave to people who give them a bad review to get a feeling of the type of people they are. They are rude, insensitive and very unprofessional. We did not enjoy our stay here and would not return Rúben T, Gerente at City Hostel Lisbon, responded to this review You wouldn’t stay here again? You probably never stayed here...But if leaving a bad review for a property that you never visited makes you happy, that is ok. We will continue here providing a great stay for all our guests.

  In do realize that this is just a hostel, but I also think that you can expect some sort of standard when you go to sleep somewhere, a place with a minimal cleaning and a breathable air. I've stayed in many hostels in several countries, but this one has overtaken by far, any of them in the most horrible way, I am absolutely disappointed!- NO kind of heating or cooling source/ no AC (in the night time there were 5°C outside and 6°C inside the room)- NO ventilation in the bathroom + the doors are always opened => you can imagine the smell and molds spread everywhere- Very small rooms- The electricity falls all the time- You'll have warm water if you are lucky- Squeaking beds- Bugs- Poor breakfast- Poor wifi signal- The washing machine doesn’t work- ROBBERY !! All my money from my locker were STOLEN! The locker was not broken, somebody else had another key!! Rúben T, Gerente at City Hostel Lisbon, responded to this review City Hostel Lisbon have very high rating in all booking platforms. Writing lies compulsively dont make them true.We had more than 3 thousand guests and you by far were the worst ever. People like you should stay at home and for sure not stay in hostels.Your attitude was very bad towards the staff and specially towards the different roommates you had during the 28 days you stayed here.Bathrooms have ventilation. You just need to press the button. Too much trouble for you right?Temperature inside the hostel is never below 20°C. You even bought a heater and your roommates kept complsining about the high temperature. They were always opening the windows to get some fresh air.The elecricity was always going down due to you using your damaged hair dryer. No problems before or after you.Warm water is available 24 hours a day.Your bed or any other bed were squeaking and for sure no bugs anywhere.Wifi works perfectly and guests consistently rate it as excelent.Washing machine had a problem in the door which was solved in less than 24 hours. You were here 28 days! This clearly shows your bad attitude.Nobody stole anything from you. The police came here and they even laughed at you when you tried to say that you had been robbed.Shame on you for writing lies and for being so anti-social.

  Convenient and accommodating

  helpful staff, the location is convenient, just less than 10 mins walk to metro station to airport or public bus. near to a convenient store, restaurant, supermarket and mall. it's a bit hidden so you must use google map or ask location before arrival. the comfort rooms are large however water heater is sometimes not working. and taking cold shower during winter is definitely awful. There's a small cabinet right right next to the bunk bed so better bring extra lock if you want to store important items.
