Palatial grandeur in the heart of a beautiful city.

    rating29 Apr 2026

We first visited Lisbon and stayed at Dear Lisbon Palace Chiado four years ago. We by wowed so much by it then that we had no hesitation in booking it for our second stay in this beautiful city. Not only is the grand, stately accommodation “palatial”, the staff go out of their way to constantly ensure that you are looked after. In particular, the front of house staff, Cláudio, Andreia and Miguel really could not do enough in ensuring that all our needs were met. Additionally, all of the house-keeping staff were real ambassadors for the hotel. Diadine, Sakib and others were always eager to engage with us and this all contributed to first class hospitality. The rooms are all every bit as spacious and beautiful as they appear on the website and the specially prepared breakfasts delivered to your room each day are substantial and varied. The proximity of the hotel to the Baixa Chiado district is excellent in terms of restaurants, exclusive and souvenir shops as well as an excellent metro system linking the area to the airport and outlying areas. Lisbon is best discovered on foot. Built on 7 hills it has much to offer in terms of varied neighbourhoods from the labyrinthine Alfama to the miradours and riverside open views. Dear Lisbon Palace Chiado gives easy access on foot to all of these things. The rooms are all elevated and accessed via six flights of stairs in a grand entrance vestibule. There is no lift. Climbing these stairs daily requires a level of fitness which prepares you well for the hilly districts of the town. We are now thinking about when next to return to Lisbon, not only because there is still more to discover, but also so we can experience again staying in another of the fine rooms of this former palace. Ours has again been a wonderful experience.

    Worth every euro!

From the moment we stepped through the front door, this hotel and its staff were fantastic! They provided attentive assistance and fabulous recommendations. Our room had a lovely view; breakfast en suite was superb.

A unique experience in Chiado Lisbon

    rating22 Mar 2026

I feel frustrated because I can only score from 1 to 5; Palace Chiado deserves a 6! It was a wonderful experience. The entire historical hotel consists of a small number of very large rooms or suites. The view is incredible. The in-room breakfast is legendary. We felt part of history and created timeless memories. There were also some wonderful discussions about Pessoa's poetry at the reception desk...

A quiet comfortable palace to relax in the best part of Central Lisbon.

    rating14 Mar 2026

We have had 4 wonderful nights in this palace of a hotel. Despite being right in the best part of the centre of Lisbon our nights were completely undisturbed on a very large comfortable bed. The small hospitality team helped us plan our visits to Belem, Sintra, the castle and the cathedral. In the evenings they recommended the most authentic Portugese restaurants. It made for the ideal City Break.

    Beautiful and Luxurious

    rating16 Nov 2025

We had a fabulous stay here. The property is beautiful, unique and comfortable. The service by the manager was outstanding. The rooms are very large, well kept and make you feel like you are staying in a palace! The breakfast is delivered each morning at your selected time. Food is plentiful with a lot of variety. We enjoyed it immensely! Our flight arrived at dawn and we could not check-in but they stored our bags and let us use the restroom (very small facility!). They pushed to get our room cleaned first so we could get checked in that afternoon and have a rest before dinner. There was definitely some street noise overnight, but I expected that in an urban hotel. Location can’t be beat. Walking distance to shops and restaurants and tourist sites. There is no elevator so expect about 45 steps up to the floor with the rooms. There are only 9 rooms in the building and they book quickly, so make a reservation well in advance. The communication beforehand was prompt and helpful with any questions I asked. I would stay here again and highly recommend it to those wanting a unique experience. This is NOT a full service hotel, no restaurant, no fitness center, etc. Simply a beautiful historic and old building offering gracious luxury at a good price. Manager Miguel de Pina went above and beyond, thanks Miguel!
