  Absolutely awful stench of smoke in the room which being an Asthma sufferer went down like a ton of bricks, staff couldn’t speak a word of English so couldn’t even ask for a changes of room especially as it was after midnight. Even worse was to follow the next morning when there wasn’t a drop of hot water, so after travelling the whole day that was all I need. Apart the disgusting smoke cell, there was an awful fusty smell as well. 100% will definitely not be back. 🤬🤬🤬

  Cheap stay with friendly staff

  First thing to say about this place is that the staff makes this place, every one of them were fantastically friendly and helpful. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and there have been some changes. Our room was much smaller than before and a bit on the cold side - this is not too much of a problem for us but other folk might not like it at this time of the year (December). The room although basic, was very clean, the bed was warm and comfortable but the shower although working okay was small and the step in and out of it was not easy to manage - for some this could provide problems. The door to the room was a bit ill-fitting but was fine and secure.We chose the Residencial do Sul hotel as we knew it had a small kitchen which is useful for travellers like ourselves on a low budget. The kitchen has moved though and is not as good as it once was but is perfectly manageable - but note, there is no hob only a microwave and fridge. The hotel also has a small eating area which I found had improved from its move, it also has a lounge for Internet use but we never used it as reception in the bedroom was sufficient. I like this hotel, maybe it is not the best in town but, for those on a low budget, it has everything you need. Once again, we had a great time in a great city filled with friendly people.

  My boyfriend and I stayed here with a double bedroom and private bathroom. Great, clean place with a shared balcony. 24 hour receptionists are lovely and always on hand to help. They will keep your bags safe and offer you to stay in the cosy living room until your return flight. Bathroom is small but only real issue is that every time we turned off the shower, the head would fall out of the holder and hit us on our heads! This should be remedied as it could potentially hurt somebody! Very close to city centre with amazing transport links including underground and buses. Can walk 10 mins to Rossio.

  I spent my school vacation here. The rooms are not very big, but anyway enough. The bath is also small, but everyday they provide to clean it. There's also a cozy living room in the first floor. Great location, just 15 minutes by feet to the city centre.

  The staff were really nice, friendly and helpful. Every one of them. The room was great - as expected at this price it was basic but very clean - nice comfortable bed and a great shower. The hotel also has a small kitchen - great for travellers on a low budget - and a small eating area. For Internet there is a comfortable lounge and coffee is available from the coffee machine. Admittedly, from the outside the hotel doesn't look too great but I have to say that once inside, there is a warm welcome and a new world opens. The hotel location is also superb so near the centre of the city. My wife and I had a great time in Lisbon which is a great city filled with friendly people. This hotel is highly recommended for those on a low budget.
