Great staff.

Greeted at the hotel by William who shared recommendations on where to go, and was very polite and professional. Once at the room I found it a little hot, but went back to reception where Munya gave me a fan for the room. Munya was funny, as we bantered with football.The room itself was very nice and clean. Bed was very comfortable.

I stay here regularly for work. The staff really make this hotel. The staff are so friendly. The lads that work there are always friendly. Rooms are a good size. Breakfast staff are always chatty and polite. This is without a shadow of a doubt, one of the best Holiday Inn express that I have ever stayed in. Thank you too all the staff. Fantastic place. Highly recommend.

DON’T Touch the food !!

DON’T touch the food unless it’s piping hot as all the food temperatures failed miserably several times at breakfast time. Even the “ FRESH “ food that was brought out after they had to clear due to the temperature problem failed to be at a recommended temperature some below 50oc . Kitchen staff needs to be reexamined as soon as possible.The manager refused to discuss any complaints from customers. So not returning and as a IHG member will be taking the food problem up with the local inspector.

Don't bother this December 25

We booked this in October 25 for a stay last weekend 6-12-25. Upon arrival we were told they are undergoing a refurb starting on Sunday 7-12-25. As a consequence there would be No hot breakfast, and we could sit by the cold door as the bar area and restaurant was totally cleared to make way for the refurb allegedly starting the following day. We were told we could get a refund on the room. So we booked elsewhere. When we asked for a refund, after checking in for a whole 90 seconds, we were told it could not be processed unless we wrote in to request it. There then followed several emails and we were given only a partial refund for not using the room, but checking in! What makes it even more upsetting is that I received several messages the day before inviting me to enjoy an evening meal at the hotel. They failed to mention the bar and restaurant was effectively closed, save for a seat by the door. The atmosphere was not very good, there is no breakfast, aside from a grab and go option, and you have to sit by the cold door with lots of people checking in to enjoy a quite drink or meal. - not really a relaxing weekend break! I have used this hotel several times in the past without issue, but last weekend the customer service was awful and we will not be hurrying back especially when we are told we can get a FULL refund, and then a manager says after the event, 'No' and will not entertain any further discussion on the matter. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL. So, in conclusion, avoid the hotel until he refurb is complete.
