I would absolutely stay here again and happily encourage others to do the same.

What a pleasure it is to write an extremely positive review for a hotel whose staff genuinely places their guests’ comfort first. From the front desk to the housekeeping and breakfast teams, everyone worked hard to make my two-night stay smooth and enjoyable. Special thanks to Mariana Espadilha at reception for thoughtfully arranging one of the quietest rooms possible — something I greatly appreciated after long days exploring Lisbon. The rooms are spacious, clean, and relaxing, with modern décor, hardwood flooring, a calming shower, mini-safe, kettle, and refrigerator. Although breakfast comes at an additional cost, I found it well worth it, offering a wide variety of fresh and appetizing choices each morning. In a perfect world, my ideally quiet room might also have come with a beautiful view, but honestly, the trade-off for deep, peaceful sleep while being located just steps from one of Lisbon’s busy central avenues was more than worth it.I would absolutely stay here again and happily encourage others to do the same.

    Terrible Experience

    rating20 Feb 2026

I stayed very recently at EXE Liberdade. This was my 2nd stay at the hotel. Although the hotel remains a nice hotel, the management clearly values profit over customer care. I had an urgent matter pop up that required me to return home early. Rather than do the right thing and issue a refund or hotel credit, the hotel management refused to do either, instead choosing to dismiss my plight in favor of short term profit. claiming that their rules stated absolutely no refunds were to be given within 48 hours of the initiation of a stay. I was charged for the entire remainder of my stay. It was disgusting and left me feeling angry and outraged that absolutely no concern for my situation was shown by management. When circumstances of an unexpected urgent nature present themselves, forcing a guest to leave early, exceptions to the hotel's draconian policy need to be implemented. If you value being treated with respect and understanding DO NOT stay at this hotel!

A calm and quiet room after a very long day of travel

    rating03 Feb 2026

Front desk staff helpful and outgoing. A quiet room in a rather anonymous hotel. Staff accommodated our request for a late checkout and kept our travel gear as I completed a business appointment. I really appreciated a window/balcony for fresh air as the room had a musty smell. Would stay again and recommend as a good overnight stay.

    4.5 out of 5 stars!

We arrived in Lisbon not knowing much about the city. We loved the location of this hotel close to Parque Eduardo VII and the Avenida da Liberdade. Very walkable to everything. Fabulous location close to the Christmas Night Market and shopping and good restaurants. The hotel and the rooms were clean, modern and had very helpful and polite staff. Breakfast buffet was very good and highly recommended.

They treat elderly people like trash!

    rating10 Nov 2025

I would like to express our complete dissatisfaction with our stay at Hotel Exe Liberdade on October 19, 2025. We went as a group and I went with my eldery mom.The room assigned to us was located on the first floor, at the end of the hallway after a flight of ten stairs. My mother has difficulty walking and needs help or support to go up and down stairs. This was extremely uncomfortable for her, and we had previously requested that she be placed in an accessible room.We arrived tired and exhausted, and dinner—which was supposed to be ready upon arrival—was greatly delayed. I went to check in before the others, and when I went up with my mother, I had to leave her in the hallway because of the stairs. I went back down to request a room change and pleaded for any other room without stairs. I even said it didn’t need to have two single beds; a double bed would be fine, as long as my mother wouldn’t have to climb stairs. The receptionist said the hotel was full, all rooms had been assigned, and a change could only be made the next day. Reluctantly, I helped my elderly mother down the stairs to the room, only to find that the door wouldn’t open.My mother had to wait again while I fetched the receptionist to open it. She came with a key and found that the electronic lock had dead batteries. From check-in to finally entering the room, it took about 15 to 20 minutes, during which my mother had to stand the whole time.Later, I met a couple of friends from our group who had just checked in. Their room was located *before* the stairs! I explained our situation and asked to swap rooms, which they kindly agreed to.Honestly, this shows the hotel’s lack of willingness to solve problems. The first room smelled musty, even though it was clean and tidy—it clearly hadn’t been used in a while. The second room was much better in comfort, lighting, and cleanliness, and did not smell of mold. The musty odor, the lock without batteries, the delayed dinner, and the disregard for my mother’s needs made me feel outraged to see how poorly the elderly were treated.I express my indignation toward the hotel and sincerely hope action will be taken, as I do not wish for any elderly person to go through the same experience.
