An excellent base for exploring Lisbon

I can say without hesitation that this is one of the better hotels I've stayed at on during my recent travels. It is a well appointed four-star establishment at a fantastic central location, a short metro or taxi ride away from key areas like Chiado and Alfama; thus a perfect spot for tourists hoping to see all that Lisbon has to offer. Our king room was spacious, clean, and quiet, with a large bathroom and a nice balcony. The continental breakfast was delicious and varied, with fresh fruits and all kinds of pastries on offer. The staff were very helpful and friendly – especially Mauro at the front desk and Sergio on breakfast duty. My only gripe with this hotel is that they don't offer facial tissues, nor does the bathroom have proper ventilation (two standard features of North American hotels). Other than that, a great experience worth every penny and a place that I would surely stay at again in the future!

We were assigned this hotel through our travel agent and extremely pleased. The rooms are nice, clean, everything worked properly and there was plenty of hot water at a great pressure. No trickling out of pipes as some places.The breakfast was included and what a spread! Hot food, fruit, yogurt, numerous sweets (including delicious custard tarts!) and every kind of coffee imaginable. The best part? AMAZING STAFF! From check in (ever so helpful and assisting us with bags) the gentleman (name?) gave us great advice. At breakfast, the servers were so attentive and when we asked a question about busses to Fatima, one of the young men (Daniel) helped us with a new app on our phone and gave us very clear directions that we greatly appreciated! Another gentleman, Sergio, was always a positive sight, greeting us each morning! He too, pulled up Google maps on another day and gave great directions! We really are not idiots about traveling but this staff was just the BEST!

If I had to stay more than one night, I would’ve changed hotels.

The hotel is older, but the room was clean and the breakfast was good. However, the bed was extremely uncomfortable — it felt as though I was sleeping on a hardwood floor. I even had to fold the comforters from the two single beds to create some padding. After spending the entire day walking on cobblestones, you expect to return to a comfortable place to rest, but the hard mattress made it impossible. If I had to stay more than one night, I would’ve changed hotels. Because of this, I would not stay here again.

What an incredibly planned and lovely daily breakfast for your guests — Portuguese egg tarts, mini-crepes, juices, and so many thoughtful little touches! The room was gorgeous and spotless, and the bathroom beautifully clean. Nearby grocery, convenient location … We had such a wonderful stay — we very highly recommend HF Fenix Garden! 🌿

My husband and myself, stayed at the HF Fenix garden hotel from the 6/9/25 to the 12/9/25. I must say it was a fantastic hotel, right in the centre of all the necessary amenities. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were courteous, helpful and friendly. A special shout out goes to Jose Alvito at the reception and Sergio Nunes in the restaurant. As far as our room was concerned, it was spacious with a good view, clean with lots of storage space. We had tea and coffee making facility and a fridge, which was helpful. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay at this hotel again
