If you're passing through, it's fine.

We stopped here on our way to the Algarve. Accessible only by car, the structure is very simple, the rooms are rather bare and in ours there was no double bed. Breakfast almost nonexistent. Cheap but offers very little Originally submitted in Italian on www.tripadvisor.it. View originals.

    The best I've ever been

    rating21 Aug 2025

Portugal’s youth hostels are the best of Hostelling International, and this is no exception. I already knew the place, but only this time I stayed, the place is a little isolated, but the view of the river from there are formidable and the breakfast is always satisfactory. It was another unit in Portugal where I was quite satisfied. Originally submitted in Portuguese on www.tripadvisor.com.br. View originals.

    Place with a VIEW

The hostel is located high on the south shore of Tagus river, with excellent view on the Lisboa and the bridge. In case of fog filling the river, you may think you are in SanFrancisco. It is a good place to explore south shore (beaches, the figure of Christ), but Lisboa is just a short bus ride - or you may take a walk along the river and take a ferry.

    Very neglected!

    rating24 Apr 2016

The place is in a perfect location and the views are to die for BUT the place and it's surroundings are very neglected which is a real pity. Lots of potentials but nothing has been done :( The views from the Margem Sul to Lisbon are amazing and especially if you sit on the veranda sipping a drink or even reading a book. Have no idea what the rooms look like just wish they looked after the outside!

    Trip to Portugal & Spain

    rating06 Feb 2014

It is a nice and clean motel. Hearty breakfast with all the basics, so is the facilities, basic, but nice, no luxuary. Internet supposed to be avilable all over the hotel, but the reception in the room is rather poor, you have to go to the lobby to get the workable signals. There is a desin fault for the bathtub, with a swinging clear galss panel to cover the shower head water from spilling outside, but does not do a very good job, the water is a mess on the bathroom floor, which is dangerious and anoying. This comment is valid for all my other hotel experience in my trip to Portugal and Spain within the next two weeks, the facilities, the breakfast, the internet, including the bath tub shield design, same designer, some facilities are new, and some are worn out, one place has cigarettee burning holes on furnitures. These hotel including Hotel Sevilla Congresos in Sevilla; Hotel Tryp Alamada Cludad in Malaga; HotelEurost Ciudad of Cordoba, Hotel Gran Almenar in Madrid; Hotel Europa in Zaragoza; and Hotel Exe Parc in Barcelona.
