    Excellent location near sights of Lisbon. Staff was super helpful and welcoming. Small park next to hotel with gazebo was so pleasant. Would stay again anytime.

    The hotel has retro decor and is nicely furnished with older style furniture, some showing their age a little. The hotel was very clear and appeared to be well maintained. The staff were very friendly and helpful, all staff that we interacted with spoke English which was helpful as our Portuguese was not at the level required. Breakfast was ok, buffet style. The breakfast area is small and can be busy was the 8-9am time. There are no evening meals, the bar/dining area closes at 9pm, the bar area is nice to either sit inside or outside for an afternoon glass of wine. The hotel operates a coffee shop/bar in the park area opposite the hotel which is nice to sit in with both tree and umbrellas for shade. The location of the hotel is excellent for visiting downtown Lisbon.

    We really enjoyed staying at Hotel Alegria. Our room was large, charmingly furnished with a nice view of the park across the street. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast outstanding. We appreciated being in a quieter location. The hotel is on a side street a few minutes walk to Avenida Liberdad with a pleasant park (with Kiosk) across the street. I'd highly recommend staying here.

    Great Bar in the Park Opposite.

    I was staying in a very good hotel nearby (PortoBay Marques) which was excellent, however we stumbled across this great bar in the park which belongs to the very a pretty looking Algeria hotel with a classic car outside. Would love to stay there on our next visit. Staff were so helpful and did the best Pastel de Nata.

    Charming hotel just a short distance from the metro and easy access to Lisbon sites

    My husband and I stayed at this charming hotel for one night. It was too short. It was perfect for us, really, really close to the metro stop, quiet and within easy walking distance of the pretty neighborhood, Principe Real. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was good and the staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. I would love to return one day. It was magical.
